NTM was NOT my Friend

Well I heard so much on the board about NTM (Neutrogena Triple moisture) so I purchased the moisturizing shampoo and the deep recovery mask .

So im in the shower like WOW this shampoo made my hair so soft . I got out to proceed to detangle and apply the deep conditioner right.

Well as I detangled… my hair was shedding like crazy . I slapped some protein reconstructer in SO QUICK. That NTM made my hair TOO SOFT and weak…it like washed the strength away. Im a stick to my neXus . I guess that’s what I get for being a PJ.

yeah, not every thing is for everybody. I had that same experience with motions silk protein, that stuff made my hair soft as butter but made it shed something terrible!

IMO, the Daily Deep Conditioner is better.

But, is does make my hair soft but that is what I like.

I agree with Alli77, not everything is for everyone.

The Deep Recovery Mask comes in a 6 ounce jar with a twist-off lid. I think you have the Daily Deep Conditioner. I don't use either of them so I wouldn't be able to offer anything more.

Hi Ladies I use NTM from time to time and I love,love, love this product. The slip is unbelieveable and it smells so delicious.

BSweet I don't think that you should have detangled with the conditioner but with the silk touch leave-in. IMO all conditioners make hair so soft that it's fragile so I only detangle with a leave in.

The ddc is great! So is the Silk. Some people don't like the mask. I've never tried it.

That stuff was awful on my hair, although I loved the smell. It went right into my sister's hands. She says it's ok for her.

NTM isn't my friend either. It's like washing my hair with plain water. It just goes to show, "different strokes for different folks." At least now I can say, I've been there, and tried that. However, the healing shine serum works wonders. A little of it goes a long way. I take about 2 dime size drops, rub my hands together, pass it through my hair, and BAM! Instant moisture and shine without weighing my hair down.

I use everything in the line, but like other posters have stated, all things don't work for all heads...and that's okay...it happens.

I use the NTM DDC when I have tangle issues...like I did last weekend at 15 weeks post relaxer touch up and it did the job.

I use the mask, but I add a lil evoo to it or I mix it with the DDC....if I use the mask alone, I use a small amount like indicated on the directions. Sometimes that works. I don't think it's as effective using a lot for some reason.

When I first tried NTM, I hated it. Literally. Something went wrong, but after I used the mask and the leave in my hair was HARD. I put it on the DO NOT USE shelf with all my other failed products for about 6 months. Something made me try it again... probably the raves here on the board. It's been a staple ever since. So don't give up. Maybe it's not your time.

Okay I know this post is from a long time ago but I'm glad to have found it b/c I tried the NTM REcovery Mask thing last night and just like someone described above it felt like the only thing I had used was water on my hair and I did use a lot of it too (like half the jar) so I'm glad someone mentioned that could be the problem too.

Maybe I'll try less next time or try it w/ EVOO or not try it all! but i'm very happy to have my opinion of this validated, b/c I was really shocked at the bad results I had from it.

The Mask did nothing for my hair, either.

But the Daily Deep Conditioner is my favorite product, I think. It gives me so much slip!

I hope that start making larger bottles of it!!!

Yeah I like the leave in for detangling.

Yeah I no how you feel. At first when I started using this line I could not believe how soft my hair was but is was too soft and started shedding and breaking like nobody's business. I still think it is an excellent product line but it was just overkill on my hair.
