Ladies, I'd love some advice as to how to make these products work for me. I am baffled as to why they aren't since I know so many members here love them. I have tried them two times so far after washing my hair. The main problem is that they seem to take the natural shine out of my hair -- not completely but enough to make it look somewhat dull, which isn't normal for me. I know this must not be happening to those of you who like them.
The first time I used them I applied the serum first, then the leave-in, and wore my hair straight after it air-dried.
Yesterday, I tried them for the second time and mixed them together in my hands before applying. Then I applied my favorite Suave gel, which usually increases the shine in my hair, scrunched my hair and let it dry wavy/curly. However, my hair did not curl/wave up and have the bounce and high shine that it usually does when I apply the gel by itself. It looks limp, dragged down and dull, even though it does not feel heavy or greasy at all.
Does anyone know why this would be happening and how I can correct it? I'd rather have these products work than have to end up taking them back for a refund.
The first time, I used a clarifying shampoo and a conditioner that usually leaves my hair very shiny. The second time, I used a different shampoo and conditioner that also usually leave my hair shiny and bouncy. Each time, I'm pretty sure I used an appropriate amount of the serum and leave-in for my hair length and thickness. I didn't use a lot, just enough to lightly coat my hair. I used a bit more of the leave-in than the serum. My little serum bottle is still pretty full, and my hair is waist-length and thick. I just can't imagine that the problem would be that I need to use more, since I can definitely feel that the products have coated my hair.
Any suggestions? Maybe I should just use one of the products at a time?
