Not sure how I feel about my "trained" hair LOL

i've done both pressing and flat ironing. either is fine for me but the flat iron maintains the same heat whereas the pressing comb (the old school kind not electric) you heat and kind of have to be very aware when it is too hot or just right or too cool.

i just think that maybe my flat iron was too high or i held it on my hair too long (b/c i was curling not just straightening).

normally i don't use any heat protectant at all (unless you count serums as heat protectants) yet the only change was the chi 44.

i'm going to tough it out and grow it out. my biggest concern is breakage and again, so far so good.

i don't think anyone should not get or try a FI b/c of this, just be aware of the dangers and test a teeny portion of your own hair first to see what happens and what you will need to do for your own hair type.

i've never had this problem before and i will FI again after i get through this.

*also for the record i don't believe in heat "trained" hair in case noobs or lurkers are out there reading this thread. imo there is no such thing as heat training, it is heat damage.

:yep::yep: at your little pink writing, that's basically what it is, it can still thrive, but yup that's what it is indeed

I also believe it can happen with either pressing or flat ironing, I can't really say one is better than the other for sure. I did figure that flat ironing with 'pressing' the hair from both sides might do it faster. But heat 'stretching-training' (Damage) can happen from just one time, or over time, I'm not sure there really is one sure fire -*no pun*- way to prevent it

other than no heat whatsoever

cause I surely didn't know I was heat trained (Damaged) all those years

still no major reversion. i think it's a wrap ladies. i'm pony/bunning it up till summer.

this is how it looked 2 days ago wet w/ conditioner.

for pony/buns my reggie is:
shampoo w/ Elucence Moisture Benefits
rinse
porosity control
rinse
spray in infusium (if in shower)
leave in Elucence Moisture Balancing Conditioner
coconut oil
wrap in towel to get excess moisture
seal with Organix coconut oil serum
a teeny bit of KCCC to smooth
denman or paddle brush into pony or bun and air dry (wrapped in satin scarf to lay down waves & fly aways)

*do ION pack 1-2x a month*

when May or June roll around i will get a trim from the salon.

yeah I see a little more curl too, but still the straight peices. It's ok girl, time will take care of this, like I said should be pretty painless as long as your hair remains healthy enough to transition through it. and it does seem like it will be

I'm glad you shared and posted , it helps others know who don't want to take chances with the product you felt made the difference

I respect those that share their triumphs but also set backs very much. So others can learn from them, so thank you for sharing

u got the right idea , bunning for a while, and it will be fine:yep:
