not relaxing during warmer months

I relax whenever my hair needs it regardless of weather. What's the rationale for why one might avoid relaxing in warmer months? I've never heard this idea or theory.

Im curious also, is there something wrong with relaxing during the warmer months?? Is it due to sweat and frizz??

I think the OP is asking about this due to sweat. Open pores = bad for relaxer day whether it lands on your scalp mistakenly or even not.

For me, I just relax when I need it. How funny is it that since I got a relaxer today, my next relaxer won't be until the end of September or October. LOL hahaha  fortune's fool!

I make sure I don't workout a few days before my TU and definitely not on the day of the TU regardless of the season.

Summer sweating doesn't impact my decision to delay relaxing. I live in FL and sometimes can't control sweating. I just base my hair really well before going to the salon and all is well in the end.

I won't schedule a TU around the times when I know I will be outside a lot and have the potential for sweating. I try to schedule it on a week/day when I know activity will be low with minimal sweat.

Im 12 wks post and was thinking about giveing my hair a relaxer break over the summer. Just got braids today so..we'll see how long this lasts!

Summer is the time this mane needs taming. Anyway, as of now, I relax one every season, so I'm suppose to relax in July, but lets see how that goes. I prefer to hold out in the winter, as it is easier to hide NG under a hat then for long stretches.

Please excuse my iPhone; it's trying to get it together

I don't relax during the summer. Thats when my hair gets a "break", because during the school semester I would always have to make sure my hair is "presentable"..lol but now I do it out of habit. I get the most growth during the summer because I keep it braided. I probably wont relax until my 25th bday in November.

I usually go 10 weeks between each relaxer, except in the summer months, June, July, August, when I go a minimum of 12 weeks. So I don't relax in the summer. I do a lot of rollersets, twistouts, flexi rod sets, and bunning. It seems that I gain a lot of length during the summer. I do it because I spend a lot of time outside in the heat, and I say what's the point of getting a relaxer, when I'm trying to stay cool, and sweat as little as possible.

Since I go 20 weeks between each relaxer now, I won't be relaxing until September just because of how my relaxer schedule worked out.

I guess my hair is getting a "summer break". :yep:
