When i get braids for like a week or two, i take them out, and i have about 40 long hairs, like the longest on my head- but when i dont have braids -daily i get about 10 medium sized hairs

What do you get?

:) I lose alot of hair when I take out my extensions but I usualy leave my braids in for a few months. I dont lose much hair at all when I tak eout my cornrows. Maybe a few strands. Short strands. But with braids 200+ short pieces. Think about it. if you lose *hypothetically* 100 pieces a day *so scientists say* and you wear your hair in braids/extensions for 2 weeks thats 100 pieces x 14 days= 1400 pieces of hair. BUT I dont get that much. If your hair is relatively healthy the only hair you will lose in braids is the hair that would have come out anyway due to normal loss.

I have no idea how many strands I shed, I wouldn't even be able to begin to guesstimate. But I do have a picture of the ball of hair that I shedded in my album, after I took out my braids back in November.

I voted 50-200 medium/short hairs (mainly because my hair isn't really that long).

I usually leave in my individual braids (crown and glory size approximately) for 6 weeks at most now.

I don't think that's too bad in terms of shedding. I try to be very gentle taking out my braids (I never let anyone else help me do it, except my sister/cousin/mother).

I also don't comb through my whole head until I get in the shower and have let conditioner sit on my hair for a while.
