NO MORE PHONY PONIES AT WORK!

I have been on a HYH challenge and I've decided to quit. Too many people are in love with my phony pony and like to touch and yank it. Today, I had to slap a kid who just likes to play a little too much and my pony fell off. Needless to say, I am off the HYHC and will now be doing a low heat and roller set challenge. I am having a tough time trying to stretch my relaxer since I under processed one side.

Why do people always have to mess up a good thing . Can't they learn to keep their hands to themselves? It's like going to school with brand new white sneakers...some how everyone decides to step on your feet that day .

There are other ways to hide your hair besides the phony pony. Have you crossed out braids, wigs, weaves, etc.? Are you just tired of HingYH?

This is the same reason i dont wear them. SOMEONE always wants to pull and yank it - its RIDICULOUS. Happened to me TWICE at a club. ur dancing and some 'friend' thinks it would be sexy to pull ur hair out of the scrunchie - except they dont know ITS FAKE. Someone at work usually wants to pull it as well and then thinks its funny when i get upset (im at a small firm with no real HR). So far clip in tracks are my best defense but its annoying. I totally feel ur pain

DITTO!!!!!!!! when i wore my half wig people were wondering if it was "mine" and how o got it so wavy? REACHING for my hair im like Please do not touch .........its mine i paid for it (is what Im thinking)

i would have been extremely mad if this happened to me. what you should have done was take the pony and slap him with it.

I am clueless. What is a half a wig and how do you use one? My hair grew even though I forced it into the phony pony. Now I don't need to force it anymore. I think I will do just use a regular scrunchie with no phony pony. I can't braid, so I am in limbo right now.

I feel your pain. my brother was playing around with me, grabbed me and my pony fell off in the middle of the parking lot..only one hispanic lady saw...and wanted to laugh..so I just played it off the best I could but it was embarassing...I hate people touching my hair.

In fact my brothers father is the same way, always ruffling my hair and carrying on..there should be a rule against touching black womens hair ..and it should be inforced seriously.

You could probably wear scarves to work if you don't want to wear phony ponies, and I don't think they'd want to pull on a scarf . Why should you have to drop out of the challenge because of them? They have some cute ones that you can tie and make nice little buns out of. My friend wore scarves a lot when she bc'd and they looked cute.

Half wigs are wigs that leave the front of your hair exposed. They secure with combs and drawstrings and are great for a quick beautiful hair style w/o damaging your own hair.

Do a search for "half wigs" on youtube! IMO they are some of the best protective styles. I you can get them at most BSS or on www.hairsisters.com

Check out my fotki for pics of how I wear mine. I use a headband for extra security and to protect all of my hair.

This thread is the reason I'm afraid to do the phony pony! I doubt anyone would just pull on my hair in a professional environment, but my job is active and I could see that cute little fake Afro puff I just bought on the floor in urine or blood with everyone staring at me :embarrassed:

Does anyone have tricks to secure it better?

oooooh noo, sorry this happened to you, i have been wearingmine for about two weeks and this lady at work keeps on fluffing it saying she love it(she actually thnks its my hair) ibetter be careful she doesnt pull it off one day. i secure mine extra with bobbin pins though, loads!
