Ok, so the humidity has been str8 MESSING ME UP! Then my MaxiGlide gave me less than stellar results (but straight nonetheless) and then more rain hits it!!!

I have to resort to the "evil brown gel" just to get my hair to stay down and not POOF! So I use some last night when I went out and came home pretty late and I just put a little "Heavy Cream" in it and some on the ends and went to bed....BIG MISTAKE! I wake up and my hair feels like total UGHHHHH incarnated!!! I go in and proceed to comb the ish out like I should have done when I reached home, cuz all it did was create a barrier to my heavy cream!!!

So anyone who has ever used Brown gel, knows that it HARDENS like NO OTHER and will come out in flakes if ur not careful.....

So I comb it out and reach for the silk touch. Put that through my hair and a while I ago I touch my hair and my hair is STRAW!! THe DARN SILK TOUCH DID THE SAME THING!!!

Now, I never was that crazy about silk touch, it has been a so-so product....(Worked on one wrap and that was it!!) But being me, i wasn't going to waste it but I threw that sucka straight in the GARBAGE!!

so now, I went back to combing the hard bits outta my hair, and I put more "Heavy Cream" in. I let it sit, now it is tied down....If it's not better by morning, I'm gonna have to rewash my hair....I just washed it too, and I hate having to use more heat soooo sooon!!!

I'm sorry about your hair woes. :( Actually, I use brown gel occasionally and it's always been a rule of thumb, that brown gel must be washed out or else you'll have the same results as you did. Maybe, you should try rinsing/washing it out before applying more products or combing it out.

Go get you some Pre-Con Gel. It is great, me and my mom use it. It doesn't make your hair hard and it doesn't leave a residue. Or go get some Fantasia IC Gel, it has no alcohol or mineral oil and works great.

Yeah that silk touch didn't do a thing for me....I used it as a leave in last week and my hair was hard. Tried using it for the wrap and didnt do a thing. I'm chucking it too.

I think I'm going looking for that Fantasia Gel tomorrow!

KT, you've said it! That stuff definitely needs to be washed out.

I've never been able to comb brown gel out. I've always had to wash it. Good luck. It'll be fine after a good shampoo...Id actually consider slarifying since you added more product on top of the brown gel.

Just thinking about that nasty brown gel gives me the shivers! :ill:

I remember using that Ampro stuff before I knew anything about caring for my hair. I remember it made my hair hard as a rock from all that protein and when I tried to comb my edges I got all that yucky brown build up on the comb, bleck! :barf:

Brown Gel

Hate that stuff..

I used to use ProCon, but Now I use Dove Gel, its works great and doesnt make your hair hard
:)

U guys, I must shamefully admit, that I knew better about the Brown gel, but it is the ONLY thing that keeps the hair in check; especially when stretching. I've tried Elasta QP Glaze and even though it leaves my hair soft, it doesn't hold worth a darn past an hour, and becomes an oil slick. In alot of cases, JAM is like that too....:( I was desperate.....

Get the Fantasia IC Gel for a very strong hold. Fantasia Frizz Buster Gel is a lighter hold. I think you will like these both better than that brown gel. Just say NO to brown gel!

Say It Again!!!!

I used Fantasia IC Thick n' Shine "brown gel" religously, but I always use over my leave in's and moisturizers. I don't really have problems brushing it out.
