I finally succumb(sp) to my paranoia brought on by the, "had my scalp scoped" thread lol and bought the trial size kit for chemically treated hair. who has some long term experience with this? what did it do for your hair, if anything? I'm willing to give it a try for a little while, but not if it will be a waste. do i have to use the entire line? i want to only use the shampoo and my own conditoners. i also want to continue to put WGO on my scalp. do you think by continuing to use WGO it defeats the whole purpose of the product(to unclog pores)? how long will it take for my pores to unclog and how often do i have to use it? i usually wash my hair once a wk or every 5 days.

I don't know the answer. You may have to bump in the morning when more experts are online.

: )

I've used Nioxin off and on for the past 9 or 10 years (the Protectives Line). It does no good to use the shampoo without the scalp therapy conditioner. Use them both for a month without any other products (except a deep conditioner). Then if you want, stop and use your other products for a while. You should use them together for a month. I'll also bump you another thread where I posted on this subject a month ago. I really like the shampoo & conditioner. I also liked the Follicle Booster. I could do without the vitamins & the Protective Line's "Treatment." I haven't tried out the new Nioxin Line that looks like it is supposed to be more moisturizing for chemically treated hair. I've seen it a JCPenney's but I'm not buying anymore products! I've got enough Nioxin to last me 6 months or more.

See this thread & also on the last page, the comment about the new Nioxin line. My stylists had always told me not to use Nioxin for more than a month because it can cause dryness. This new line should take care of it. It was $15 at JCPenney's when I saw it last weekend.

Hi felicia, I've just started using it because my hair had been thinning out around the edges and it had been really itchy. I use it about once a week and yes it does dry out your hair a bit. But I have the regular one, I haven't found the new one yet. So far it's been fine for me, my scalp does feel a lot better and my shedding and breakage has slowed down a lot.

hi nurseN98, thanks for responding. i think i got the trail size of the new one, i'm unsure. i think im going to try it for a month, but i'm not going to stop using my wgo or my other conditioners. i'm going to just use the scalp therapy on my scalp and do my protein and mositurizing after that. what do you guys think?

I think that should be fine. The only thing is that the smell is strong between the shampoo and the scalp therapy. But maybe the smell of the new one is a little better. Mines smells like peppermint (my fiance says it smells like Vicks..lol) so it may clash with some of your products. But I've been still doing protein and deep conditioning after using the poo & scalp tx.
