1. Which product do you prefer?

2.Which helped your hair the most?

3. What is the difference between the two products?

4. Which one helps the best with breakage?

I am experiencing a bit of breakage and want something that can help it and restore the life to my hair. I did a relaxer and it left my hair a little dull. Which of these products do you think I should use, or which one would you use?

I can't choose because I use them so differently. I don't use Emergencee according to the directions on the bottle. I use it the way you use the Aphogee intensive protein treatment. I use Keraphix just like I would any other rinse-off conditioner or sometime added to some of my deep conditioner cocktails.

I think having them in rotation has been good. Emergencee treatments have helped with breakage as a result of touchups, etc, but has the opposite effect when I am in need of moisture.

Keraphix never gave my negative effects and did not alter my moisture balance at all.

so is emergencee a protein treatment and keraphix is a regular conditioner? What is each used for?

Emergencee is a heavy protein treatment. I use it only for extreme breakage and shedding to strengthen the hair, like before or after I've flat ironed.

Keraphix is a light protein conditioner. I use it about once every three or four weeks. It doesn't leave my hair dry or crunchy like some protein conditioners do but it does make it feel stronger and stops shedding.

Would you suggest I buy them both? Emergencee for when Im shedding bad and Keraphix to keep my hair is check?

I totally agree. I use my emergencee like aphogee also. But I use keraphix more as maintenance just about every wash in some form whether it be a pre-poo or added to one of my deep conditioners. Keraphix according to nexxus can be used every 4 days while Emergencee can be used every two weeks.

MizaniMami thanks for posting this!

1. Which product do you prefer?
Hands down Nexxus Emergencee

2.Which helped your hair the most?
Nexxus Emergencee

3. What is the difference between the two products?
I think Keraphix is much lighter and for light damage, Emergencee is for severe damage.

4. Which one helps the best with breakage?
Emergencee

I can't stand Keraphix i can't even believe these products are made by the same company , keraphix did nothing for my hair, in fact my hair was falling with it. Emergencee has been a staple for me for sometime, when i do crazy things to my hair I can rely on it to restore my hair.

For the past week, I have been experimenting with combining Emergencee with the Keraphix and leaving them both in overnight. I rinse in the morning and apply Humectress. I do this twice per week and my hair has NEVER felt or looked better.

I will be posting pics at the end of March.

I love emergencee. For me its a medium protein treatment, not as strong as aphogee 2 step yet stonger than keraphix (which is a mild protein like aphogee 2 min). I use emergencee weekly, alternating between rinsing it out after a minute or two and leaving it in for 15 to 30 minutes with a cap.

Emergencee is a much stronger protein treatment than Keraphix. Keraphix can be used for moisture/protein balance maintenance whereas Emergencee can be used to stop breakage in "emergency" situations such as post-relaxer.

Oh? Please enlighten ....

Well the keraphix is a regular protein conditioner. I like it because it also has ceramides which help the protein work more efficently (in terms of filling in cracks in the cuticle).

Even though emergencee has protein in it, what really makes it awesome is the polymetric properties. It is like saran wrap for the hair, doing more sealing and coating of the cuticle than just the keraphix alone. This is why they recommend using it on a regular basis because it will supplement your usual protein treatments by sealing it all in. This is also why I think alot of people like it more than the aphogee 2 step. It does more sealing of the cuticle which helps decrease breakage. Its not really the protein content per say.

I know we tend to associate protein strength with how hard our hair feels afterwards but that is decieving. In the case of the nexxus, the polymers can help contribute to that feeling.

I use both products and I use them at the same time. I use the emergencee after a traditional protein treatment to seal all of that goodness into the hair strand. Also with having more fine and double processed hair, I need more cuticle reinforcement than some other ladies so the emergencee is also a great weekly choice.

Based upon this thread, I did Emergencee for the first time this weekend. It was on sale at Walgreens for $11.99 so I figured I'd give it a try. So far, this is fantastic. I'll see where I'm at by next Saturday. Hopefully, it wil be as good as everyone says.

If all is well by the end of the week, I'll try the Keraphix next weekend.
