For those of you that use this, does it simply volumize or does it actually plump/thicken your hair strands over time? I know a few people that swear by it.
I use to swear by it. I used it religiously for years. I didn't notice any more volume or thickness, but I have a lot of hair to begin with.
What I did notice is lots of flaking from my hair. For some reason, I used to have the snow-white effect after my hair was freshly washed. I stopped using Headress and problem was solved. I now use Humectress and a wee bit of Headress...I just want to use up the remainder of the bottle.
Britt, it probably was residue, but it was always there and looked like dandruff. There's nothing worse than wearing black and getting flakes all over.
Yeah, I have always had a lot of hair. It's a blessing, but difficult to manage at times.
Britt, you may want to try the Vita-tress line from nexxus. It's supposed to be designed specifically to give volume. Now, I can't vouch for this, as I only use the biotin creme from this line, but it may be worth a shot.

The thickness is only temporary Britt

Is that true for all hair thickner conditioners?

Yup. Thick hair is something you are genetically born with, but you can enhance thin hair by using products that coat the hairs, giving the illusion of being thicker.
Think of thickening conditioners and shampoos like mascara. When you remove the mascara you are left with the eyelashes your born with; you're not going to have permanently long, lush lashes, ya know?
