I have been washing and conditioning and air-drying and still have been disappointed with the number of hairs in the comb. All that washing and conditioning took out the color I had in my hair, so tonight, back to the sink to color this evening. I washed with Clairol Herbal Essence Purifying Shampoo,(a clarifier: I love this shampoo!!) and then sprayed my hair with Epitome by Nexxus. It is a reconstructive conditioner. The color was put in directly on top of the Epitome, as the bottle instructed (didn't even know it could be used for this purpose or with relaxing and perming until just before I used it). I processed the color at my roots and then combed it through to the ends for the last 5 minutes (2-3 hairs in the comb! I was delirious!!)and then rinsed. I put in Nexxus Ensure, an acidifying conditioner, to bring back the life to my hair and left it on just three minutes as instructed (smells like grapefruit!). Then to put the moisture in, did three minutes of Nexxus Humectress. My hair felt like silk...and the best part... If I found more than three hairs in my comb, I am lying. This is wonderful news! I read those bottles again: the protein in both the Epitome and Ensure is collagen. According to Supergirl, collagen makes the hair more flexible and strengthens it. I'll say!! I am thrilled and will continue on my hair journey knowing that collagen is what my hair has needed for a long time. Thanks, Supergirl!
As we all travel down the road of our respective hair journeys, we will try products that will do nothing for our hair, do not so good things to our hair, and finally will find what our own hair craves. Trial and error, seek and find...Thanks to you all for posting what works and what doesn't. We will all find our "holy grail for our hair" so to speak as we educate others on what we find out there. Good luck on the hunt, ladies!!
