Is it true that if you use an electric hot comb on your newgrowth you must wait a week to get a relaxer?

TIA ladies

someone probably thinks this because the pressed ng may be in a weakened state. It may be true, who knows?

I don't know if this is true or not, but I would never put any type of hot comb anywhere near my new growth.

It could also be because it would be easier to identify the ng from the relaxed hair when it's kinky...the damage probably plays a roll in that too so you might get double the damage.

I totally agree with this too.

Some people flat iron before they get a relaxer, so the stylist wont break their hair detangling it. I guess its whatever is the lesser of two evils.

My last hair stylist blew dried my hair strait before she relaxed it. She said because my hair was curly, that was necessary. It hurt like hell too. I got scalp burns. Be careful if u R considering the use of heat b4 a relaxer.
