First of all let me just say I feel like a fan and all of you ladies are superstars. i have finally decided to join after about a year and a half of lurking. this board is the best. I just love to see women coming together to support one another instead of put each other down. Why can't it be like this everywhere? Anyway you ladies inspire me so much. For a long time my hair stayed one legnth (which was neck legnth) and I was wondering what I was doing wrong. I became obssessed to the point people (my mother & Fiance) used to tell me all I thought about was hair, but they did not understand I just wanted to learn how to take care of my hair.

My question is: Is it possible to go day after day with no breakage? even if it is only a few peices of hair. I have tried everything recommended on this board but I still have some breakage. It has calmed down alot to the point I am impressesd but I cant say it has stopped.

Thanks everyone!

Welcome J

I am fairly new myself, so I cant give you a 100% answer but I would say that there will always be some breakage when you are handling your hair, with that said I feel the less you handle it and the more you protective you can nearly make the breakage non existent.

Hey newbie. It normal when handling the hair to lose a few strands as the hair sheds and some people hair is really fragile.

to the OP i'd like to say welcome also :D

you're question just made me think of one of the members here who made a comment about being able to buy a Magic Feather Comb :)

that comb would probably be mentioned on the infamous Hit & Misses for the next 12 months:lachen:.

it'd sure be nice wouldn't it?

Welcome sweetcoco

I still consider myself a newbie here too. But I think everyone gets broken hairs every now and then. I have greatly decreased my amount of broken hairs by incorporating LHCF methods. I use to freak out when I saw a broken hair or two but then i thought about before LHCF when I use to have hundreds of little broken hairs on my shirt everyday and my hair was still decent...:ohwell: I still see women with those tiny hairs scattered on their shirts but they still have "decent" looking hair :ohwell:. So now I just think about how much more healthy one or two broken hairs are vs hundreds of broken hairs. HTH

your hair is doing great it is very pretty and I do agree with you. I used to see hair all over the sink and on my shirt back and front but not anymore. I think the co-washes I am doing are really making my hair strong.

Hi Sweetcocoa! I'm glad you came. I know for sure that hair sheds naturally as we all do, so I think it's expected. I think there is a sticky post in stickys you might be looking for section that talking about the difference between shedding and breakage. But as with others, I agree that some handling of the hair will cause a few hairs to break. No worries though. Like you, I used to have 100s of hairs a day and thought that was normal. So, it goes to show there is always something new to learn! I get about three to five hairs a day now. I'm sure it wont be a bother at all! HHG!
