First off I want to say a great big THANK YOU to the loud response my rollerset thread got last week. Honestly, all of the love and support I got really boosted my confidence and had me thinking 'You know, I may really be able to work this thing out...'

In any event, the beginning of this week started off extremely rough for me (My boyfriend's father actually passed away on Sunday) and so I was really neglecting my hair and my regimen of using MN daily, taking vits, etc. On Tuesday I decided to try to get back into the groove, but I didn't want to manipulate my hair too much so I basically did my MN treatment, moisturized my hair with my homemade spritz, and then did some bantu knots. I've never done them before but I've seen a lot of pictures on here and figured why not, my only concern was that I heard that some people do two strand twists first and then the knots, while others just knot, and some others just have it come out not quite what they expected, so I figured I can try and the worst that could happen is it wouldn't look right. Anyway, here are my results:

Your bantus came out really nice! This is a great style once you get the hang of how to do them.

Question- did you do yours on wet or dry hair (I couldn't tell from the pics)? I've tried on dry hair and they worked really well, but I know many ladies use this as an airdried style.

I did them on dry hair but I sprayed my hair down with my moisturizing spritz so it was semi-damp. I would try on wet hair but I'm a little too impatient and I know I would take them down before they're 100% dry.

Thanks! The dark brown is mine but the color I actually highlighted in my hair about 6 months ago using L'Oreal color. Here's the link to it:

Left it on for about 40 minutes and then rinsed it off.

ooh, you're on fiyah now. soon you'll be a full DIY'er! I like those like elastics/scrunchies you have around them, I've been looking for some like that to do my bantu knots. where'd u get them?

Yeah I hope so! But thanks for the compliment my dear :)

The elastics I bought from Ricky's NYC, I don't know if they're only in NY or elsewhere? But if you know the store I'm talking about (it sells hair and body stuff) they're the ones in a pack of 6 for $3.99 and they're called Ricky's Smooth.

Thank you for responding. Too bad I'm deathly afraid of permanent color and highlights:nono:
