Ladies,

I have read some of the posts on this site and have gotten very valuable information and I truly thank you all. My issue is that I live in a very dry climate (New Mexico) and for the life of me I can't figure out how to keep moisture in my hair! My hair is a giant curly mess.

It doesn't stay straight. I have a relaxer in it. I had to only wash my hair once every 2 weeks because my hair can't take frequent washings with the hard water. I know I am doing something wrong I just don't know what it is. I am brand new to this site, so maybe there is a thread that I haven't read yet that will help.

As of now I wash my hair with Wen and my hair is strong. I use coconut oil everyday for moisture. I use MT a couple times a week. I grease my scalp with sulfur 8. I use pink oil moisturizer daily. I co wash once a week with a Pantene hair mask. I am 2 seconds from just cutting all of my hair off and just saying screw it!:nono:

I look at the photos of you all with absolutely gorgeous hair and I want to have beautiful hair too. I don't know what to use on my hair after relaxing it to make it shiny without using a bunch of grease. I don't know how to keep my hair straight in between relaxers. I relax my hair myself and my hair use to be nice, but now that I have moved here my hair is as dry as a box of Rice Krispies!:wallbash:

I don't know what to do. Any suggestions?

Throw away the Pink Oil (it's the debil!) and get a chelating shampoo like ORS Creamy Aloe. Since you're relaxed and have hard water, start chelating monthly to get the hard water and mineral deposits out of your hair. It'll make a HUGE difference!

Deep condition twice a week with the Pantene Mask until your moisture gets back on track. Keep moisturizing daily. Why don't you just use WEN sealed with coconut oil as your daily moisturizer?

Since you're using MT, you really don't need the Sulfur 8. I think you should cut that out. Since you're a noob, try and keep your reggie as simple as possible so you don't get overwhelmed

HTH and :welcome: !!!!

Hi and welcome!

One of the first things you can do is put a humidifer in your home to increase the moisture levels in the air.

Drop the pink oil STAT! and do like Tiffers said and start using chelating shampoos

Thank you all so much I will try everything you said and I will get back!

Thank you again and I will remember to keep it simple.
