introduce myself.

You girls are great, knowledgeable and friendly, offering lots of advice, tips and suggestions. Please excuse my ignorance to hair, but I’ve been dependant on hair stylist for years and now realize, since discovering this board, that I can take BETTER care of my own hair and go easy on my budget! I also have 2 little girls whose hair I’d like to take better care of. I’ll have many questions to come and I just want to say thanks in advance for all of your help.

Married, Mommy of 2
Denver, CO
Age 29

Hair type –really not sure, I need help on this one... I am thinking 3B/3C or maybe even 4... I am relaxed... I think she uses Mizani relaxer

My girls age 6 and 21 months, are a Type 2B/2C I think, they have finer hair than me, very naturally curly, but the little one’s hair is more course, drier than the older.

So I need lots of assistance. Let the questions begin!

Michelle

Hi! Also check out the children's forum for help with your kids' hair. If you put a pic of your new growth you'd be able to get help typing your hair...HHG

Thanks Ladies! I'll post a pic tonight. So its the new growth that determines the hair type, not the full strand?

It's your hair in its natural state (without chemicals and/or heat manipulation) that determines your hair type. To this day I still have difficulty in determining my hair type

Anyway, welcome aboard! There are many hair experts here to answer all your concerns.

Hi!! Welcome. I only joined couple of weeks ago, so we should be in the same graduating class:lol: This site is so wonderful and the ladies (haven't ran across any men yet) are so helpful. They want to see you succeed.

I see you are in Denver. There is a member DenverGirl that was looking for other Denver metro area members. I am sure she will be happy that you are now a part of the site.

**Sorry DenverGirl if I put you out there...just trying to be helpful:)

Welcome, Shell!

I think it's great that you're here and you want to take good care of your daughter's hair too.:)
