Hello LHCF ladies! Who knew that I would enjoy you ladies so much and be so inspired by the great wisdom and knowledge of this board to be forced out of 9 months of lurking?! Nothing like a community of smart Black women to thwart your stalker plans! THANK YOU for all of the wonderful info I've received from LHCF. I have 2 daughters and we've all benefitted from my newest obsession. When they see a new hair product or me mixing concoctions in the kitchen, they say, "Let me guess.......the hair board". U betta know it!

I have a question: Whenever I put moisturizer on my ends (dry or wet) and then seal them with one of my many oils (Sweet Almond, Jamaica Mango Lime, Keala, KeraCare Essentials, Coconut.......who me? PJ? :look: .....Naw, see what had happened was.....), I have pieces of broken hairs all over my hands after sealing with oil. What's up with that? Please tell me that someone else has experienced this. BTW, I'm a relaxed 4A.

hi there and welcome! I have had my hair shed in my hands, but not so much snap at the ends. Is your hair fine? It may be too much product that is causing your hair to pull and snap.

I also have fine hair and I find that you really have to be careful with the amount of product that you put on. See if you can just get away with oiling your ends without the moisture. Or maybe try and oil water mix in a spritz bottle that you can just mist on the ends if you are wearing your hair in a protective style. I am learning that many of the things that work very well for ladies on the board do not work so well for me because of my fine hair (even though I have a lot of hair). But play around a bit - I am sure you will find the right system for your hair. :)

Welcome, Manethang!!! *waving*

This is very helpful to read, because I too have very fine-textured hair and am always looking for ways to minimize any shedding of the ends. I had no idea the weight of too much product could contribute to such shedding. :perplexed Geez, thanks!

to LHCF, manethang! HHG!

Cute graphics!! Thx so much, for the welcome Mestiva!

Waving back atcha, KaniKakes!:) I'm trying less product on my hair this week after my wash day and I can tell a difference with the breakage. My hair seems to prefer a liquid moisturizer, which makes so much sense based on Peacleoves comments about fine hair. I'm using UBH Dew and a little oil nightly this week. Only putting a cream moisurizer on my edges and nape.

HHG!
