This is the first forum that I have ever join and actually posted to. I don't know what the protocol is but I feel I need to say "Hi everyone" even though I'm kind of shy.

This post is also in answer to a PM I received in which I edit out the name of the person who PM me (I didn't have their consent).

My hair length I think had to do with (in part) my previous regime which was to get my relaxed hair touched up before any breakage (for me that was about every 8 or 9wks). My stylists would use various lye relaxers (Optimum,Motions, Vitale, etc) over the year and years (I am presently using Affirm exclusively).

As part of the relaxing regime I would have an Aphogee treatment applied (stinky one) followed by a motions brand conditioner (sometimes this varied). My hair was then spritz with a leave in conditioner (Optimum leave-in I think) follow by a Dudley's or Optimum setting lotion (presently using Vitale with water).

My stylist would then wrap my hair (almost exclusively) and then under the hood dryer until it fully dried. When it was almost dried she would rub some oil between her hands and then rub it around my wrapped hair and then let it finish drying. Once my hair was dried, she would flat iron it and then bump the ends even though I would initially protest.

In between relaxers I would, if I had the time, wash and condition my hair every two weeks.

The other part that I attribute to my present hair length had to do my use of nutritional supplements during my child bearing years (youngest now 20 months old). In addtion to maternity vitamins, I was taking barley green or kyo-green supplement drink as well as Chlorophyll drink in which I mixed in water. I'm not doing this presently because I'm no longer motivated to do it due to the taste.

Since I've joined LHCF I've learned that my vegetarian diet help out in this wise I was using another supplement called Brewer's Nutritional Yeast Flakes (please don't confuss with "Brewer's Yeast") in which I used to make certain foods. I still use this but not as much as I need to.

So there you have it, the starting grounds of my long hair journey.

At present, I'm wearing my hair in braid/twistout (thanks braidout 24/7) exclusively with "poo" and "cond" washes every 3- 4 day. And with the exception of the staple products mention above, I'm in the experimental PJ stage.

HTH!

Anyone have any suggestions on what I can do to change this problem I'm having?

When u type in the graemlins, u see the letter symbol for it...not the actual graemlin. Can u see them in your posts?
