Hi I've been lurking:sekret: since last year 08' and just became a payed member this a.m.:bouncegreWoohoo!!! ? When I wash or co-wash I get a soapy sound, feel, and look on my strands??? Is this product build-up or something else?:perplexed

If you are using conditioner as your cowash product I am not sure how you are getting the soupy sound, feel.

Do you mean it is squeaky?
What are you using during the week before you cowash.

Usually washing with shampoo gives you the squeaky sound because it is stripping. What conditioner are you using for your cowashes?

Are you natural or relaxed?

PS: Welcome aboard and happy hair journey. :yep:

Welcome! That doesn't sound normal to me. I'm sure some of the veterans will chime in! HHG (happy hair growing)!

Welcome!

Maybe I'm not understanding your question. If you use shampoo, then your hair will be soapy. If you're getting a lot of foam/lather with conditioner it could be the brand of conditioner or buildup. Try clarifying and see what happens.

I am not sure what conditioner you used but you may not have washed it out properly or you may need to try another conditioner. The first time I tried cowashing I used a VO5 conditioner b/c it seemed that it was the most popular but it left an icky film on my hair. The second time I used hello hydration w/ no problems.

Thank you ladies. I love LHCF and you goodhearted ladies. I am moisturizing and sealing with LTR, Kenra Mango Bttr, etc. and sealing with vatika, cantu oo, etc. just about everyday maybe even 2x a day. I co-wash pretty frequently with a lot of natural cond. like JASONS, Natures Gate, etc.

MsCocoface: It's more of a soapy thing even when I just co-wash(it looks like thers soap in my hair.?.)

What conditioner are you using? I have been cowashing for two years now and I don't ever remember a soapy look or feel.

I am and have been transitioning (to natural) since the early part of last year when I found LHCF. I use a whole arsenal of cond. :rolleyes:Ex:avalon condtioners, AO, EQP DPR-11, JASONS, Giovanni, Natures Gate, and many more. Sorry about me leaving the thread Ms.Cocoface and others (at work at the time) and THANK YOU.
