I'm new to site and this is the first time i'm hearing of MSM. I went to buy some from Walmart the other day, but was lost as to what brand to buy. So tomorrow i'm going to GNC to get some. What brand do you all recommend from there or Walmart. Thank you

first, there's a test that you can try for purity. if you get the capsule kind, open the capsule and pour the contents into a glass of room temperature water. real MSM sinks to the bottom. if it floats, it's either artificial or has alot of fillers. that's supposed to be less effective.

there was a thread last week about looking for either "lignisul" MSM, or the "OptiMSM" symbol on the label. if it's a quality brand, it should have either of these markings.

i use Vitamin Shoppe brand, which has OptiMSM on the label. i get it online, but if you buy from them, see if there's one in your area first. i think someone said the GNC brand is the lignisul form.

Its funny Ive used the GNC brand of MSM w/Lignisul and I loved the results I was getting, but then I decided to do the float test, and it failed. I decided to buy the Trimedica brand w/Lignisul capsule and it failed also. I wish I would have stuck with the GNC brand b/c it was making my new growth grow in way faster than usual. However, Trimedica is suppose to be a reputable brand of MSM so I will have to finish my bottle so as not to waste it. I wonder if this float test is real since GNC failed (it formed as film at the top of the water)and it produced SIGNIFICANT results

Thank you ladies so much. I bought some from my local GNC and I bought some ULTRA NOURISHHAIR. The lady from GNC told me to put it vinegar and if it dissolve it's pure.
