Just wanted to introduce myself. I am Danette, and I have been reading the visible posts to non-subscribers since last week and I can tell you that I have really enjoyed your candor and knowledge. So as of today, I am a new subscriber.

I've recently decided to take back control over something that was devastating that I had given up, hair loss. I have always had thick, easy to grow hair and over the years deaths and drama have taken their toll and I lost alot of it. For me I was too embarassed to seek help, and when I went for medical opinions there no true answers, so I just denied what was happening and ignored it. Well this past summer I faced myself, my shame and my pride and went to a salon and got the jump start on hair care. I had been texlaxing, but the chemicals were still causing my scalp irritation, so we started the transition of pressing/flat iron with CHI... that thing was sweet. I am now cutting back on the heat for the winter because I am noticing breakage.

I had had itching in my crown, which would breakout and then have sores. Fortunately for me I heard about MTG from another hair board (but I am loving this one best!) and it cleared it right up. Not sure about growth, but just to have my scalp not to be sore to the touch, itchy and breakout is a blessing.

I am going to cut this short, but I appreciate your reviews and sharing, so I just wanted to introduce myself too.

Welcome Danette!

I can feel your pain in your message. God brings us here for a reason and you are no exception. Read and absorb and I am positive that what you learn here will help you.

No one told me about this forum; I stumbled across it accidently while surfing the web (I'm a Geek). That was 2 months ago and already I have experienced healthier, thicker feeling/looking hair. I have bald temples that have been with me for the better part of my life. I am 48 years old and today after getting a touch up and relaxer this past weekend, I notice I have little hairs growing out of my temples! OH MY GOD! I am doing the happy dance.

I wish you the best on your hair journey. You will find it AMAZING!
