Do your thing girl! You have inspired me to grow my perm out for real! I would love to learn how to roller set my hair however it just looks like a big poof when Im done! Do you dry your your under a dryer to roller set or do you let your hair air dry? Also when you braid your hair, do you use grease or something else? Either way any information would be appreciated!

i love your hair, what is your hair texture if you dont mind my asking? and how long did it take to grow out all that beautiful natural hair? was it hard....i am gonna go natural one of these days.....maybe i will do it with braids ..i dunno..but please tell us more on your beautiful natural hair!!

girl, you are really inspiring me!!! I'm 5 mos. into my transitioning, and i'm still sitting on the fence! I heard that 5-7 mos. is the hardest part. How did you get over the hump? BTW, your hair is gorgeous!

Well for the roller set that's shown,my soft bonnet dryer was broken,so I used a hard bonnet dryer. I could not take sitting under it much, so I slept in those rollers(won't do that again. For the braids I used Carol's Daughter Mimosa Hair Honey. It's like a natural pomade to smooth frizzies(I love the stuff!!) and I apply 911 leave in creme conditioner. That's about it.Since these two products do the trick for me,I'm sticking with them.

I have four textures of hair-the sides are wavy, the middle is frizzy and tightly coiled, and the back is curly. It has been a year in October since I had my last perm. In the beginning,it was hard because I did not know what to do to it;however, I met some women who were going natural and they really helped. I have about 6 inches of new growth now and believe it or not,it has been very easy to manage-the key word is patience. I have discovered that combing natural/permed hair when dry is a no no-a guaranteed breakage experience.I comb my hair when it's wet, sectioning off the hair and applying Carol's Daughter and 911 leave in conditioner.

I believe that is right because I am JUST now able to manage my hair without breaking it off after 1 year. During the first few months, I remember getting cornrows, some pressing(not often) or putting my hair in a humpy ponytail.

You have a very beautiful head of hair and you're very pretty too. Keep up the good work...It's albums like these that make me wish I were natural again.

Maan bubblin i cant stand u. LOL. i love them stretch pics. wow. cant wait to c my hair like that when the natural part gets longer.

What stops you from going natural again? I'm going natural because the perm did nothing for my hair. I had 3 full root to end perms during my 4 year perm experience, but my hair would not straighten. I had to accept that my hair is naturally wavy/curly and no chemical can alter it. I did not experience any hair loss with my perm, but the downside was when I would get styles, they would not last longer that 2 days,if lucky. I did it all-I went from a Affirm relaxer to a Design Essentials to Soft n free, to a box perm called Precise. I went to various stylists for different styles but I had to accept my hair would not do what everyone else's did.

You know, since I got the hang of caring for 2 textures,I am really enjoying it. How long have you been transitioning? Whatever you do,try to stick with it.

Your picture at age 3 is sooo cute. I wish my mom was as into doing my hair as yours was. If you look at my picture album I had the same style (and length) for 4 years!

Bubln,
My I've been natural about 2 times in the last six years. I like natural hair but my hair is just umanageable. Your texture is very different from mine and I can tell that it's about 150X more manaeagable than mine. I remember being afraid to touch my hair after washing and drying it. It was like trying to comb a brick wall. I'll just stick with the relaxer for now and try to keep up with my healthy hair practices

wow bubbl thats a whole lotta hair u got there!!jus realised what time it is after awwin and ahhing at yo beautiful pics.i especially love yo hair wen u had a braid out and also the one u have in yo avatar coz i cant wait till my hair is that long.

Sweetnic,
My hair is very unmanageable after I wash it and it begins to airdry. I have learned to be patient with it. Like mentioned before,I don't comb my hair when it's dry or when there are no products in it. Believe me, I know what you mean by manageability.

Did your mom ever complain about doing your hair?

Oh yeah! I hated to have her do my hair, wash it, press it, whatever I hated it. She also gave me a relaxer at a young age 8 or 9 I think. I always had thick hair even with her greasing it and abusing it to death, but I think my hair would be much thicker now if I had gotten a relaxer after puberty.

My mom is one of those people who believe in good hair and bad hair, etc. which played itself out on my unsuspecting hair!
