Anyone from the greater NO area know of a local Indian grocer that carries hair products?

They have some products in those Herbal stores that you find in the quarter, and I think there's one on Canal Blvd. You know the places where people go to get the stuff that cleans their system out from smokin.... Let me check to see if I can find the name or address.

Herb Imports?

Ok Its called The Herb Import Co.
5055 Canal St, New Orleans - (504) 488-4889

I looked online and I didn't see any Indian Products, but I'm pretty sure they have some in the store itself. You may want to call before you go though. There's another store on St. Peter, but parking in better on Canal.

Herb Imports is not that kind of store :giggle:
The sell smoking products: Pipes, lose tobacco, and things like that.

Hello. There is an indian store in the Veterans/Clearview section of Metarie. I do not know the name of it but I do know how to get there. Mind you, I didn't thoroughly check out their hair section, but since the store is a warehouse that is over 2700 square feet, I figure that they have hair stuff. I do know that thay have Mumtaz Brand Henna. I think they have Vatika oil too. Hey, I might stop over there today to just check out what they have again.

Directions: Indian Market

Start at Clearview Pky at Veterans (Clearview Mall).
Make a right on Veterans, going toward Lakeside Mall.
Stay in your right lane until you get to Richland Rd? You will see a Mazda Dealership on the right side, just make a right at the Mazda dealership.
Keep straight until you see a white warehouse on the left side of the street.

Please PM me and let me know if you need help. I am very familiar with Indian culture in New Orleans.

There is the International Market off of Cleary. I bought some stuff when the bandwagon started, but that stuff stinks, so I never used it. No offense, but I now know why my Indian co-workers smell the way that they do.

I am back with the address of International Market.

Does anyone know how far this place is from the Lowe's on Veterans (near Causeway)? I make deliveries there.

It is very close to the Lowe's. I pass the Lowe's when I am coming home from the market. The market is between Lowe's and the Clearview Mall, if that makes any sense. It's also on the same side of the street as Lowes.

I purchased Parachute Coconut Oil 6.44oz for $1.99.
Vatika Oil, I believe costs $2.49.

Thanks! If it's not too far, I'll walk down there. I drive 18-wheelers so I usually have problems finding a place to park sometimes.

Yep, you can walk there from Lowes. Just go towards the Clearview mall and make left on Richland (Mazda).

Aww, Man! I was there on Friday!:wallbash: I'm sure I'll be back this week or sometime in the near future. Thanks so much!

I have been there. It is a warehouse w/ lots of knick knacks, so just take your time and look for the hair stuff.

Yes, the hair stuff is on the left side, as soon as you walk in the warehouse section of the store.

There is also an "oil" aisle. I love this place.

Just wanted to add that there is a middle eastern store that also has Henna. They do not have a wide selection of oils or other hair care products, just Henna. I do not know the name of the henna because I cannot read farsi or arabic. It is in a large foil bag, $1.39. They also have "colored henna," which I strongly suggest not to buy.

The name of the store is "Holy Land Supermarket." It's on Manhattan Blvd (westbank) next to the "Changing a Generation" church in a little mini mall.
