Hello Everyone. I just wanted to let you guys know how much the LHCF has been an inspiration to me! I have been frequenting this message board for several weeks now, getting great tips and realizing that my struggle with hair is universal. I wanted everyone to know that I did the 'big chop' yesterday and I LOVE IT!!!

It is the absolute bomb (IMHO). The funny thing with hair is that it is just that - hair. I was so scared to cut it off that I was literally shaking in the barbers chair. But once she cut it all off and I saw myself in the mirror, I couldn't help but laugh and love it. I wanted my hair to get back to its natural state (beautifully nappy) and I am so proud of myself for taking this huge step! I encourage all of you ladies to be true to yourself and not let anyone discourage you by applying/forcing their beauty standards on you. We are all beautiful in our own special way and no hairstyle in the world can replace self-esteem and love. Peace.

Aww, reading this post reminds me of the day I chopped. I'll never forget that wonderful feeling: freedom, giddiness, "I can't believe I did it!", realizing you DO look good, all that stuff and more all rolled into one as you look in the mirror for what feels like the very first time. Hold on to that feeling, dear. Never let it go.

Congrats,

~Rochelle.
