I usually wash with a CO like I would with shampoo except use VO5, Suave, or Moisture Therapy conditioners only and then deep CO w/ ORS Mayo. Style as usual.

Thanks so much for replying! So, to do a CW I use a conditioner instead of a shampoo to wash my hair? ORS mayo and moisture therapy where can I get these at? To make sure no shampoo is used just conditioner as shampoo?
Thanks for answering my post...really thanks alot!!!
TIA

Your welcome Tishee! You've got the right idea about CO washes; but I do shampoo wash once a week. I get moisture therapy from my stylist's shop, I've never seen it in any retail stores. You can get Organic Root Stim. Mayo at any BSS store that sells AA hair products.

I do conditioner rinses. Basically what I do is get a not so expensive, but really effective conditioner. I wet my hair in the shower and then apply the CO and let it sit while I shower. Then I rinse, put my leave-ins on then put my ponytail in. I like to use Suave Milk and Honey and the Citrus Smoothie for CO rinses. Other people do it in different ways, but the key is to keep the hair moisturized. I do this every day or every 2 days and I wash my hair once or twice a week. My hair stays really moisturized all the time and my hair tends to grow faster becuase of the daily rinsing.

Profectiv Breakfree is a wonderful moisturizer to use after putting a leave-in in the hair. You can pick it up from Sally's or Walmart.

Deep Brilliance is made by Farouk. They have a whole of products. I have the shampoo, conditoner and leave-in. Out of the two COs they make, the reconstruct is my favorite, although they a er both good.

Welcome to the board, btw. Just take your time and pace yourself. There's a lot of info to be absorbed here. You can get advice and tips and pretty soon you'll know what techniques and products your hair respond well to.

Oh and yes, the ACV with the mother in it is the best kind to use for ACV rinses. You'll have to play with the mixture of ACV and water a few times to get the right mixture. Too much ACV and it could leave your hair feeling hard. hth

Re: New member w/?\'s about CW, CWC

When I do my CO washes, I use Suave Milk and honey most of the time (it's really good). About every week and a half, I use creme of nature shampoo only on my scalp while conditioner is in my hair and then i rinse it out while running my fingers through my ends. This usually works pretty well and my hair feels more moist than if i use shampoo all over.

Profective Break free is a good leave in. Just use some type of moisture or oil behind it. It also helps give your hair alot of slip. HTH
