Hi Ladies

I'm so happy to have found this site. I know a few women with long healthy hair but none of them are willing to to share what they do to take care of their hair. :perplexed I have been up, down, all around and had no idea what to do with my hair. As a child my mother kept my long hair pressed....Through my teens I went from braids to hair cuts, then braids then more hair cuts. I just didn't know what to do with my hair or how to take care of it. Almost 2 years ago I went to the shop to get a perm and my hair fell out in clumps, I had bald spots all over....When I woke up the next morning the hair that was left was on my pillow. After hours of crying I got the clippers and finished the job. My hair was slowly growing, but I didn't know how to take care of it. It got kind of long and someone suggested perming it...against my better judgement I did. :wallbash: It didn't fall out it actually looked great...but it didn't last. I still didn't know how to take care of my hair. I had so much breakage. So again I cut it all off to start over and right now I'm trying to grow out my wave nouveau...Yes a wave nouveau, a friend told me it was low matience and would grow my hair. I hated it so I said no more. I want to be natural. It's been a few months since my last application. Since I've been lurking here, I vowed no more chemicals. By following some of the tips here I hope to stop the breakage and shedding...that's my first goal. :yep: My second goal is to get my hair strong and heathly again. Third goal is to get from ear length to shoulder length....If you got this far Thanks for reading...Any advice and or tips would be greatly appreciated.

Peace and Blessings

Hey bubblegumdreams. Welcome to LHCF. Don't be a stranger and look around. I am pretty sure you will find what you are looking for here.

Welcome to the forum!!!

My advice would be to try only one new thing at a time. That way if something works (or doesn't) you can be sure what caused the change in your hair. Good luck on your natural hair journey. :)

A Wave Noveu? Your friend knows she's wrong! :lachen:

You've come to the right place, sis :yep: Your hair will be on the right track in no time! :D

Welcome!

:welcome3:

You've come to the right place. My best advice is to search the thread for the issues that you have. One suggestion, as tempting as it may be try not to go out and buy a whole bunch of products just because a lot of people mentioned it. Take it slow and pace yourself. Setting yourself up with a regime is the best thing and it you want to slowly incorporate new items or else you'll end up spending a lot of money unnecessarily.

Welcome aboard, Bubblegum!! Just be consistent and learn as much as you can from these wise women!! You can make your goals in no time!!

Welcome! The info is definitely here for you...take your time and find out whats best for you. Happy Hair Growing!

Welcome! There are many naturals here so you'll soon find a regimen and products you can stick with and that your hair loves. The important thing to remember is to be patient with your hair and on your journey. HHG!

Welcome to the forum!
I'm glad you found this site too.
We all have setbacks and learning experiences, and in a way I guess, without them, we probably would'nt get as far as we do.
"Making mistakes, getting it almost right, and experimenting to see what happens are all part of the process of eventually getting it right".
You're on the right track now... you've found LHCF! :giggle:
And you're right, your first goals should be to regain the health of your hair. You will then find that the length will just come.
Happy Hair Growing!
