Hi All,

I am relatively new here and I am already learning alot from you ladies. I recently dumped the weave I have been hiding under for a few years and I am ready to make the commitment to getting my hair back on track. In the month or so that I have been here, I have hung out at the BSS like its a library, learned that excessive heat is not my friend, and I know my way around a few Indian stores. While my hair is a little beyond shoulder length, the front has a lot to be desired. The tension from the braids left my hairline a hot mess. But I'll get there
I am looking forward to my journey

Welcome aboard Tallone.

You have some serious hair experts here in my humble opinion so please feel free to ask questions and have fun.

Remember this is a journey so you are going to have the highs and lows but just keep pushing through them. Goals are for a minute because once you obtain one then you are off to the next. Most of your time will be on the journey so just enjoy it.

Welcome! There is a wealth of information in this forum. What I have found to be true is that these ladies genuinely try to help each other out..... that makes a big difference. Take your time and read the different post with the understanding that we all are different. What will work for one may not work for all but in general there will be someone who has a similar experience to what you are dealiing with positive or negative. Again, welcome and enjoy! These ladies are truly entertaining at times too so make sure you check out all the different forums!

Welcome welcome welcome! I agree with everyone else, you've got some serious hair care gurus here so ask them for help! That's what we're all here for-to help each other out.

Welcome! Many of us are recovering weave addicts as well so you should fit right in!

Welcome from one newbie to another!!!!!!!!!!
I too have only been on for a short time and I have gained so much information its fun to be on LHCF wish you all the best with your hair journey!!!!!!!!!!!!:grin::grin:

You guys are so awesome. Thanks for the warm welcome. I just realized I didnt say much about my hair. I am somewhere between 4a/4b and fine. The only upside to that is that with the Caramel treatments and blowdrying done at the salon, it can stay straight for awhile. I am relaxer free. I don't do this blowdrying often, in fact, I am drastically cutting that down. It was about 2x/mo but I think I am going to go it myself for awhile. Since the front of my hair sucks, she just sort of combed the front "up". WTF!!?? Everything was cute but the front. I looked like Mr. Heatmiser, (just in time for the Holidays. :perplexed ) I dont really do the twists, etc but I do wash and do a wavy bun (loose bun, not trying to stress the front)

So my first goal is to grow in those edges/front! I am having a devil of a time finding the Shikakai powder but my last resort, near my job told me to check back Thursday

Come on in, don't stand at the door acting all shy! We love new family members! Just jump right into the conversation:grin:
