Has anyone read Hair Rules ?
New Curly/Kinky Hair Book

The author of Hair Rules is Anthony Dickey. He is a black hair stylist that specializes in curly/kinky hair.
I still have an article about him that I clipped from the the New York Times back in 2001 that talked about how he likes to shop at Apollo Beauty Supply in Harlem (that's my favorite store, too).
He likes to use products like B&B Carrot Butta Leave-in (do they still make this?), Dudley's, Glass Curling Creme, and other "light, natural oils. He often uses these products on white girls with curly hair.
He was quoted as saying, "What the industry doesn't realize is that with black women alone there are 50 different hairtypes." I'm so happy someone finally said that. There are TONS of other combinations/types of hair than just 2a, 2b,3b,3c,4a,4b.
In 2001, he was working out of the Louis Licari salon in midtown. (He is a "freelance stylist")
He does the hair of two black models: Kara Young and Kiara.
I think I'm going to have to pick up this book!
