Hello. I'm starting to grow my hair long, it's to my collar hone now and hoping to get to bottom of rib cage eventually.

Thing is, I need to love my hair if I'm going to grow it long and I never have. My hair is unlike anyone I've ever known. It's insanely thick, wavy, coarse and porous. I don't blow dry or straighten or anything. No color, just untouched hair that is dull and unruly. I don't use sulfates or anything harse, only washing with very gentle shampoo once a week and conditioning daily.

I'd like to use as few products as possible and as natural as possible.

Is there anything I can do to "seal" my hair to make it more like actual hair? I've tried oils and all, I'm looking for something more permanent.

Advice?

What products do you use, and what is your exact regimen? Do you use protein, and how often? Do you deep condition? It sounds like you might be a curly girl, because I had a lot of the same issues when I started.

Welcome!! I don't think I understand ur question. R u looking for a sealant? What's ur current Reggie? Any pics?

Welcome Tracy! I'm with the earlier, posters in that we need more details before we can give you our best suggestions.

Do you use any creams after conditioning your hair? Perhaps a heavy cream (water or oil based) will seal in the moisture you are looking for. What conditioner(s) are you using?
