hello everyone,

My friend and I transitioned around the same time its been a year already. Yesterday she tells me that she is going to neutralize her natural hair. So i ask her why , she says because she doesnt know if the last time she got a relaxer if the woman neutralized her hair properly! So i sad its been over a year i would think that if she didnt something would have happened by now. She insists(sp) on washing her hair with the neutralizing shampoo. who is right and who is wrong ? Also is it ok to wash natural hair with neutralizing shampoo?

thanks alot

Makes absolutely no sense to do it, but it'd probably be just like clarifying her hair.

Make sure that she deep conditiones after!

Of course naturals don't have to use neutralizing shampoo, but I don't think that using it would have any horrible effects on natural hair... besides possibly tangling and making the hair dry (like a clarifying shampoo would)

Even if traces of relaxer were on her hair, a year of shampoong/conditioning would have gotten rid of it.
