I love the effect after the take down. I've never attemped this style method though. Anyone got any tips or product suggestions for a beginner?

First things first: make sure you let the bantu knots dry completely. My experience - I got a little "hasty" and took them out and while my hair was 98% dry, an hour later, my hair became a giant frizzy puff. So let it dry.

I've tried the bantu knot set with a variety of "holding" options - bobby pins, pony tail hodlers, elastics, mini scrunchies. The best ponytail holders I have found were:

the "old school" ones that are kinda spongy feeling. These worked for me because they held the hair tightly, secured the ends (no puffy ends) and dried quickly (they didn't absorb all kinds of water from my head).

Just my $.02. :)

Everytime I've tried bantu knots I've had issues.
Everyone else's look so good but I can never *untangle* them properly.
They don't look curly and stylish.
You can see the parts in my hair. Am I not fingercombing them properly?

Oohh...I didn't know they had to be wet..:perplexed . That's probably where my issue stems from. Thanks!

I've actually put my hair in some bantus dry, and went to sleep - so my hair was straight, i knotted it up, went to sleep, woke up - I had great waves. It's not the most comfortable sleep but it gave my hair cute body.
