Need Help... Trying to do a chignon

I am really sorry if this is posted somewhere else.

I bought one of the sponge "doughnuts" to try to pin my hair up in a chignon for awhile and it's not working well. My hair is almost BSL so I thought it would be easy....erplexed

Does anyone have tips, a chart, a "how to" video stream or ANYTHING that might help me, please?

I really like this bun too! My only fear is what to pin my hair down with? I feel as though bobby pinson ends would be dealy What do you guys use to keep your buns in place?

I use bobby pins for my buns. I usually lose them before the ends start to snag my hair.
