OK, so I henna'd my hair last weekend and I decided to do my DD's hair as well, she is 5 will be six next month. It turned out really well afterwards it was close to an auburn color. I thought it was a little light so I decided to put indigo in it when I did mine righ afterwards. I rinsed it out depp condition her hair then moisturized and braided it. Her hair is natural. I noticed on Tuesday that her hair was really brittle and breaking. So I washed it on Wednesday and deep conditioned it with Keracare Humecto. I moisturized with Mizani H2O and it looks a little better today but still brittle and breaking. What should I do??? I need help with this. I will never do this again. I know I will have to trim it, I don't want to.
Any help would be appreciated.

Perhaps clarify first and then try the coconut natural relaxer...I believe its a mix of coconut oil, coconut creme and yogurt... really just what seems to be an awesome deep conditioner. Cover and wrap her with a hot towel or sit her under a dryer for half an hour or leave it in for a few hours.

Slather her hair in 1 cup mayonaisse and 1/2 cup honey, leave on for at least an hour with a cap, under dryer, if possible...you should see a change immediately

Thanks so much ladies, I have coconut oil and yogurt. What is coconut cream? I will try the mayo ans honey since I have the ingredients. I hope this works, I have never seen her hair so brittle, the Mizani has helped some. I feel so bad, I have really been nurturing her hair. This is a major setback, I will have to get new scissors to trim.

Kepp the suggestions coming.

I would do a lot more DCs. I wouldn't suggest more protein. Henna is more potent than a lot of commercial products. Try clarifying too as someone else has mentioned.

I would do a CW, oil rinse and then a DC to moisturise and soften her hair. I would also lay off the protein which would make her hair more brittle.
