Ok...my mom has the worst hair habits. She does everything wrong. She combs with a small tooth comb , washes infrequently , sometimes uses a conditioner sometimes not , has never heard of a protein treatment, and if you had all day, I'd go on. Now there is no way that I would ever be able to get her to do all the stuff that I am because it sounds like a lot (even though it's rather simple). So I need a BARE MINIMUM SIMPLE SIMPLE SIMPLE plan to give her to see if she'll follow it. Does anyone have any suggesions. Please leave out any even scratching the surface of unnecesary steps. And please suggest the cheapest products that you know of that are still halfway decent (believe me, it'd be a step up) THANKS IN ADVANCE TO ALL!

My mom's the exact same way

, and I'm trying to get her started on something too. Is your mom's hair relaxed or natural? That will make some difference right there, but here are my suggestions that are kind of universal:
1. Women's One a Day or another simple, effective multivitamin
2. Cream of Nature Shampoo (that way if she doesn't feel like doing a conditioner it won't be so bad)
3. Pantene Smooth & Sleek (for when she does want to do a conditioner)
4. Infusium 23 for leave in
5. Oil for length of hair and ends (i.e. coconut or olive oil)

Hope this helps.

Creme of Nature detangling shampoo is great.
And Scurl No Drip Activator Moisturizer is also great if she likes to air-dry.
Those are the cheapest products I know of

Thanks guys. Actually she has a curl (not a jherri curl lookin' thing) a curl with large rollers. Everyone actually thinks thats her natural hair. For some reason though every time she washes her hair it is desert dry. That's one of the reasons she avoids washing it as much as she should. My hair gets very dry too but hers seems to be worse or it could just be that her style looks weird when it's not very moisturized. Those are good suggesions and cheap too. Anyone have more?
