Need help cutting hair!

I wanna go ahead and do the big chop but I'm having some trouble determining where the line between the new growth and relaxed hair is. I've already starting cutting some of my hair. Should I just wait and let a professional do it?

I felt better having a professional cut my hair. He blow dried it first. You can easily feel the difference in textures between natural and relaxed hair. I think if I cut it myself I wouldn't have gotten my hair even.
