It's only July 5th and I don't plan on getting a relaxer until August ..maybe even late August. I need some textured styles. I've been doing a rollerset (which I'll be posting a tutorial for soon) ..but I'm getting bored with it. Any ideas? Maybe I just need some accessories??

I wear my hair back in a bun everyday.
It can get boring but
I think if we can accentuate our
other features we can worry less about
what our hair looks like. Take Sade
for instance... a ponytail everyday
for the rest of your life can be sexy.
I thought I wouldn't be able to go out
to bars/clubs/parties in a bun because
we always have to "have our hair done".
Well, it's easier to just pin it up & pull it back...
it can be very sexy and then we have more
time to step up our make up game or our outfit
game... save the money & energy we were going to use to
get our hair done and treat ourselves to some
new make-up, or shoes, or a bottle of Champagne.
Then when it's time to let your hair down
everybody get's a special treat.
I took this que from our Muslim sisters...
don't let them see your hair...
I get's easier to hide your hair
when you think of it as a philosophy
rather than a fad or something...
I'm trying to convince myself
of this as I'm writing it because
I struggle with the same dilemma.

Ahhh... that's my 2 cents

Doesn't sound like a bad idea. I actually do this throughout the week. I'm a full time student, and I work part time - so by the time I get home, I'm sleep. Who wants to do up their hair every morning just to sit in the library all day? Well, let me speak for myself in saying that, I DON'T! My hair isn't long enough for a bun, but I do think I can do something a lot like one. I tend to do my prettygirl doll up routines on the weekends. I'll definitely keep this philosophy in mind, though. Maybe I can dress up a bun on the weekend with some nice accessories?
