Im doing my first attempt at them this weekend on my 3 1/2 inches TWA...It seems simple, but what about the ones in the back? Do you use a mirror or go by feel?? Any helpful advice or techniques would be appreciated.

Oh yea, im going to put some clips on the ends to help straightend the ends out.

I go by feel, but I usually use the end of a rat tail comb to part my hair, and then I pin up the 'loose' bits so that I don't combine it into what I'm twisting.

I finger part and go by feel. I always try to make sure I twists snugly and in a downward motion. I work in 4 quadrants so I part my hair that way to help avoid random loose strands. I also use aloe vera gel (just a tad) to help with the frizz.

I do not part I just grab and twist, so it won't appear too spacey. Once you start rinsing your twists they will fluff up. Enjoy !

That's exactly what I do, and I don't use a mirror most of the time.

I go by feel, but I usually use a rat tail comb to part my hair by horizontal rows and then I pin up the hair that I'm not working on and just do the row by feel. I don't use a mirror at all.

so u use a comb to part with? i was gonna try with my fingers.

I use a comb for the horizontal parting, just to be sure it's somewhat even, but the little vertical sections I do with my fingers. I only use a mirror for the front to make sure it lays how I want it to. After I part through the row with the comb I rub some detangler through that section then comb out the tangles, finger part and then twist. I do it on dry hair.
