What tyes of questions do you ask prior to getting your services? I am in desperate need of a cut/shape and I want to go this a salon to try to feel out the stylists. What should I ask them?!?

I do, I generally just ask for a blunt trim. I went to a SuperCuts and got the bomb shape once. Just ask them if their scissors are sharp (check them), tell them how much you want cut, and give them a sense of the shape you want. Also, get the price up front because if your hair is like mine, they will charge you extra. Oh and, ask them whether they prefer to cut hair dry or wet.

Don't be afraid to ask if they know how to handle AA hair. Don't be afraid to be blunt with what you want them to do to your hair, either.;)

I got my natural hair cut on damp hair (after she washed and deep conditioned).....
Only thing I DIDN'T care for too much was the stylists detangling methods! No one ever does it how YOU, yourself, would do it!
Next time I go--I'm gonna ask her to let me detangle MYSELF (bring my own detangling products, my own comb, etc)....and then I'll let her proceed to finishing off with the cut.

Just wanted to add:
and I was just reading a few days ago that SuperCuts and HairCuttery aren't supposed to charge extra for 'our hair' type. If they try to, ask to see in writing where they can charge extra....

I've only had 1 trim since being natural. He just snipped the very end of my hair. He did it on wet hair at the salon. I went for a flat iron.
