Hmmmmm. Well, I use a moisturizer like Mango butter. Then I seal it in with an oil. Now I'm using Africas Best Ultimate Herbal Oil. Then after I do that I retain the moisture with a protective style, usually twists but any protective style will do. HTH!

I normally do cw to help with moisture and my hair has benefited greatly from them. I either use DDTA or Pantene Hydrating Curls. I also use creamy moisturizers which now happens to be Pantene Oil cream moisturizer. I also usually sleep with my hair in braids or twists to help retain moisture.

What helps me are CW's and leaving in some conditioner as well as adding a leave in, either BBD Stretch or Devacurl B-Leave In. Using Miss Jessie's Buttercreme or Asha's Mane Attraction for maintanance.

I use moisturizing shampoos and conditioners (by Druide) and wash daily, which helps get the moisture in, but as far as actually retaining the moisture so it isn't dry by the end of the day, I'd have to say that applying oil to my hair after washing is key. I use jojoba daily on freshly washed hair and I never have problems with dryness. I use Vitamin Shoppe jojoba currently, but I'm running out and am looking to replace it with some organic jojoba. Aura Cacia makes organic jojoba, as well as the Boston Jojoba company (HobaCare) :yep:

For retaining moisture: Very frequent CW seem to do it for me.

Shampoo: Rarely use. When I do, it's diluted castille soap or locally made shampoo bar.

Moisturizing conditioners: VO5: moisture milks, silk experiences, tea therapy, free me freesia. Freeman awapuhi & papaya (can be washing too). TJ nourish spa. Tigi Oatmeal & Honey. Tigi Moisture Maniac. Add honey and oil to any for extra moisture.

Washing conditioners: TJ Essential, Suave Orange Smoothie, VO5 kiwi lime.

Leave-in: My key to daily moisture retention. Giovanni Direct, Tate's Miracle Conditioner.

For moisture retention, I apply Africa's Best Kids Organics Shea Butter Detangling Moisturizing Hair Lotion twice a day.
I shampoo and condition once a week with Garnier Fructis Length & Strength. All three of these products make my hair really strong and prevents breakage. :woot:

I've only been natural since December, and what has helped with my 4a hair is frequent CW using suave milk and honey or V05, and doing deep conditioners 1/2 x a week. I use a leave-in such as Always 911, or Aussie tea tree, and a moistuizer and seal with castor oil.
