Many of the natural boards I visit place a lot of emphasis on defining the natural curls and coils. While I think spirals look great on women of color, I do not desire them. So this got me to thinking about various natural looks and I was just curious as to which look the natural ladies on here desire. I voted for the bushy look, I love big, bushy, dark hair that hangs down as opposed to the BAA..which is in 2nd place for me. If you desire more than one look...the poll is multiple choice. Let me know if I forgot about some looks. I hope all the naturals/transitioners participate!!

i would like to wear my hair styled. That is how i wear my hair and how i always have. I like my hair best "in" a style i.e cornrows/flat twists. I plan to continue this as my hair grows. I'm not really into wearing my hair out that much to be honest.
 
I voted other because I prefer to wear my hair in an uneven BAA something that is kinda stretched from another style or let my curls do their own thing without the help of heavy stylers. I don't seek perfect bouncy curls but I like the frizzy freeform thing I have going now.
 
I chose twists/braids, straight(on occasion), braid/twist out, and one braid, however I also like buns, and rollersets.
 
i'm not sure - there are SO many i want to try!

I love twisted styles while transitioning and you betcha bottom dolla now that i chopped, i'm gonna be doing them with a passion now. twist and braid out will also be in my repertoire.

i don't think i'll be able to do a wash n go - my hair needs to dry stretched to avoid matting in the nape area, that's where the tightest, coarsest kinks are located and detangling is the most difficult. i want to grow my natural to the same length as my relaxed hair and WnG's will cause undo breakage.

i'll give wearing a BAA a try but it'll be more like a BAFA (big arsed floppy afro) and a pick will never touch my head :grin:

i think i'll try some flexirods now too - i think my hair will dry faster now that the length is gone hehe.

i don't really care about perfectly formed curls - my hair isn't built that way and i don't want to be using tons of gels and curl defining products.

Of course the occasional straight style i'll do once in a while but i think this summer and fall i'll be going heat free.

i want to enjoy and have fun with my hair and not get frustrated by it.
 
I'm still transitioning but I chose "Long natural hair worn in braid out or twist out"

I would just love to see myself with APL length hair worn in a braidout. I'm a fan of BIG hair so although I think perfect coily styles are cool, I prefer the braidout/twistout for myself :)
 
I just want to do as many styles as I can. I want to learn as much as I can about natural hair and styles.:D
 
I like the long braidout or twist out look. I can't wait til my hair gets long enough for it. In the mean time I'm growing it out with braids, twists, twist outs and BAA.. I do like the free form chunky fro. Thats hot!! :grin:
 
I wear my hair in a puff or a bun of some sort pretty much every day. I'm too lazy to do anything more involved on a regular basis :lol:

Hoever, I will wear my hair in a kinky/straight style too.
As long as its styled nicely. I dotn particularly care for afros, because its hard to maintain with my length.

When I'm at my goal (waist length) I may relax again or just wear braidouts everyday.
 
Wow! Looking forward to having some options! :) I probably have options now yet I will be glad when I have more length. I'm looking forward to:

If I EVER get to waistlength, I would love to rock some braidouts!
 
I voted for several different things because as my mood changes so do my styles. Puffs and coils are nice. But I think ultimately I want to be able to rock a blown out BAA. One that actually flops down past my shoulders.

I think curls and coils are pretty too but something about a ridiculously large BAA really causes people to :eek:. I think people are just as fascinated by that as waist length hair and I admit I like to grab attention with my hair sometimes.

Unfortunately once I achieve my goal I probably won't be able to wear it often because of damage/tangling, people trying to touch instead of just look, and my family probably won't want to go many places with me in public :lol:. Ah well I'll be happy if I can just rock that once in a while.
 
I voted for "other" because I feel I've done all the other styles... I'd really like to wear my natural hair blow-dried straight with a lot of length and fullness, and this requires at least bra strap length to do this :cool:
 
Funny how some people fight to the death to avoid a style that other women desire!

I definately wore the chunky, freeform BAA in the past, and got harassed and beaten for it. I got called all kinds of hurtful names, and it would take about 3 Xanax before I could go outside looking like that now. Plus a few glasses of booze...

I mostly wear my hair in a 'fro with a scarf right now. I wish I could wear pretty earrings, but my daughter would rip those suckas right out of my head! :lol:

Once I reach about BSL, I'll start wearing my hair in two long braids which I'll wrap around the crown of my head, milkmaid style, whenever I leave the house. A thick bun would also look nice.
 
I like big hair. Mostly big and curly. When my hair is out I usually wear wash and gos. When my hair gets long enough, I do plan to wear it in a BAA though. I think it'll be fierce.

ETA: Oh yeah and puffs. Can't forget puffs. :)

Milkmaid braids! I love those, always wished I could wear them. In a few years...soon enough.
 
I love her hair! Though my texture is quite different I like how it is just big and little effort has been put into defining and clumping the curls together.

Ideally, I'll wear my hair in a long frizzy/coily ponytail or afro puff most often. Going out, in a chunky wash and go or a rollerset.
 
i like the texture of my hair, only id like the length a lot longer.

i guess that falls under coils and curls although mine arent always perfectly defined :|
 
I desire that look that will make people go :eek: :love: bigger than a BAA venturing into dare I say Hair Porn....basically more hair than the average person would even know what to do with. :drool: :D
 
I want to be able to wear long french braids, one single pony puf kinda hanging in the back, a baa, and a larger than life twist out. I think my all time favorie is the long poofy blowdried look like Rudy Huxtable. Ahh... possibly by the time I'm thirty. My dang hair is just barely skimming the very top of my arm pit in the back and I can't find nothing to do with it:(
 
Since my hair is still very short I rock wash n gos, or pick it out and wear a TWA.

Can't wait until I can wear some BIG ASS HAIR! Saw a girl like that in the club and I was just drooling...............:p
