I won't be combing for another 5 week cause I'm in braids...
Have you been finger detangling? I do that instead of combing most of the time and my hair is fine.
I rarely comb my natural hair. Although I did comb some conditioner through it yesterday, which I never do, I guess I just felt spunky yesterday. I almost never comb my hair and I only brush when I pull my hair back into a puff. It isn't tangled, frequent condition washes takes care of that. I finger comb my hair and I really don't think combing with an actual comb is neccesary. I don't think it is good or bad. I just don't do it that often and it is ok.
@ bettydavis...i finger comb maybe once a week when im in the shower
another thing is that im extremely tender headed sometimes, and now i realize that this was one of the reasons why i relaxed my hair (for easier combing and less tension and pulling at the scalp). but ill suck up the pain cuz i love my hair like this
Today. Before today, it was a week because I was wearing a puff and just rinsing everyday. ...However, I don't think I'll do that anymore because there were a lot of tangles.
If I go more than two days without combing my hair it is a tangled mess! I think it depends also on what type of hair you have exactly. I know it sounds crazy, but I think some types of hair are more easily tangled than other types. (see my type in signature)
I try only to comb the hair down to my chin for it to look smooth when I wear my hair in a bun, ponytail or braid.
I detangle the rest of the hair with my fingers. It makes all the difference in the world for my ends.
I wouldn't worry about it. I don't use a comb in my hair more than once every 1-2 months, and even that seems kind of unnecessary. My hair typically looks better (and breaks less) with just finger-combing.
I comb during or after my con washes...which is almost everyday depending on what style I'm wearing. I don't think it's bad, it all depends on how your hair is. I know naturals who comb everyday and I know some who go months without combing. Your hair looks VERY HEALTHY and GREAT! Continue with the good work!

Thank you Ayeshia!
It's funny because I've had your hair album and some others on this board bookmarked for a LONG time and I'm constantly checking yall's pages for updates!
You ladies are truly creative and filled with lots of knowledge and techniques!
The last time I combed my hair was yesterday. I comb it (with an actual comb) appromixately every 2 weeks. This translates into twice a month. The days I don't use a comb, I finger comb/fluff my hair out. Seems to be enough.
okay guys i combed my hair just a few minutes ago and it wasnt as bad as i thought it would be., I sprayed some no drip activator on it and combed away. It took me about 10 minutes to comb all of it, and I barely had any shedding
I was expecting to find tons of hair in my comb. I guess I wont comb again until the end of next month.
