... go through an awkward period? I guess my hair is gaining and retaining some length this month because, all of a sudden, my hair is hanging really weird.

My wash 'n go's look like poopy right now. I can not get my hair to shrink right, lol. I mean, my hair used to shrink into a nicely shaped afro. Now, it just sticks up all over the place.

Oh well, at least I am making progress, right?

Oh yeah. I hear ya. My hair at this moment is going through a weird phase. I can tell my hair is growing because I can see the strands at the end of my hair getting longer when I do twists. I ocassionally get these long strands that will not cooperate.

I think the hair that is sticking up from your fro is hair growth. I dunno, you probably may have to pat some hair down and shape. Lol! You are right, at least there is some progress. Work it girl!

Yay! I guess I am just going to have to adjust to it and find a solution. I am so excited. This is the first time I have been able to look at my hair and notice something was different (well, aside from when I first joined and my hair no longer looked matted and dry).

Hey fellow Michiganer,

It sounds like you making progress. I would wear braids or hide my hair with wigs to get me through those stages...
