Herbal Essences Replenishing Conditioner (in the pink bottle) is amazing! I use it as a leave in and it makes my hair super shiny, soft, and smell like roses. This is a total bargain. One little $3 bottle has lasted me 6 months.

Thank you ladies.:) I will look into these. What does the MC stand for? Do you ladies have to comb your hair out under running water? It seems like this is the only way to prevent major breakage, even when it's wet! Also, last night I found that it is getting more difficult to comb from the roots. It's like it tangles on the way down and I have to use my fingers to seperate it. I do detangle on the way up, but when I hit those roots-OHBOY! I only comb on wash/co wash days. I was with my family for the holiday and didn't wash at my mom'es house so it's been at least a week with saturated washing. I did spritz my hair though. Have you ladies run into this and how do you get around it?

TIA

To comb my hair, I spritz small sections with water from a spray bottle, then I rub in about a dime size amount of herbal essences. After that I comb thru the section with a K cutter. Then I go thru the section with a denman d3 brush to get it really smooth and shiny. Then I braid the section up and let it dry. My roots only get tangled up if I don't take my time and comb my hair out every week. If I let a month go by without combing out my hair, I would have dred locks at the roots for sure.

When you can get the comb through your hair really easily. As is the comb " glides" through your hair

Calli, that's interesting because I have never let a week go by with out combing. I wonder if the running water has anything to do with it? Looks like I am going to have to get more patient than ever and start sectioning my hair piece by piece.

Adding oils (such as grapeseed, almond, etc.) to any conditioner gives my hair wonderful slip. VO5 conditioners offer great slip too.

Aubrey Organics Honeysuckle rose moisturizing conditioner. This conditioner is 100% vegan and natural. It gives great slip and moisturizes my hair just as good as any salon conditioner. I apply it before I shampoo. As a reference, my hair texture is 3c-4a/b.

Elucence MB gives me the best slip. If I run out then adding coconut oil to Suave Tropical coconut works ok too.

Slip??? HAHAHAHA

Thanks funny. I don't have slip. I have a TWA, but it tangles and combing out even under water I loose hair. So I don't use a comb anymore I just use my fingers and I still loose hair.

But, I am trying to not treat this hair like relaxed hair, I figure tangles will happen and I can't keep picking at it...

Oh and does anyone else get KNOTS? I am trying to stop picking this out, cause I am loosing hair..Its sooo hard. It almost makes me think about relaxing, but than I would be whinning over major breakage.

So that leads me to braids.

The hair in my nape area definitely gets knots, and it is hard to leave them alone, but they don't seem to do any harm. Lubricating them once or twice a day may help to keep them from forming.

Maestra, is Kenra a natural product?

S_terry, unfortunately I don't have the ingredients in front of me right now, but MC stands for moisturizing conditioner. It doesn't contain any "cones."

You ladies really are the best for sharing! I love the positive supportive vibe of the board. Luv it! :p

I get knots too, especially at the very back of my hair. I try to detangle them the best I can, but I still usually end up snaping a few hairs to get it out! :(

I'm currently using hot natural oils with 50:50 applied on top and that helps. I still get a little stuck though. Maybe I'm expecting a little to much. Like maybe my hair to perform like relaxed hair.

I hear you on the breakage/relaxer thing. It's the one thing that prevents me from going back even though I can tell it's was probably due to relaxing too often, not the right care. It makes me a little sku-red to go back there!

I will say that my hair is experiencing much less breakage ( hardly any!!) and the back is actually arm pit length when stretched! Yeah!!

I do miss the silkeness, but I am loving the fullness and abilty to retain what I have!
