So I washed my hair today with elasta QP conditioning shampoo and before rinsing it all out, I decided to let it sit for a while. My curls where so cute and 'poppin'......I couldnt help but play in it. I styled it in a bun...which i didnt think my hair was long enought to make, then took that out at did a wash and go style....it actually hung downward. By the time I was ready to wash it out, the white suds from the shampoo had almost disappeared. Well after i washed it out, my lil spirals were gone "bye-bye".
So....my question is, does anyone leave shampoo or conditioner in their hair to acheive a certain look?
Any adverse affects with doing this?

I've never styled my hair with shampoo or conditioner left in (other than a leave-in con). I would expect it to leave the hair a bit dull, weird feeling, and perhaps flake but try it. It might work out for you. Also, have you tried hair gel instead to bring out your hair's texture?

Thanks for the reply. I did use gel when I had a teeny weeny fro, it would always look good fine until it dried. It left my hair very dry and crunchy.

my curls are defined the best when I use suave m&h or trop. coconut conditioner as a leave in, unfortunately it also feels like crap when I do that, go figure

I'm not a natural (yet) nor a hair expert, but I would not recommend leaving shampoo in the hair- way too drying.
