Well I've been away for while but I'm so glad I'm back home again. The good news is that I want to see my real curls . My last relaxer was 5 months ago and now I've decided to get to the natural side, but I can't do it alone :nono: (you all know that ) So, I need some help.

What should I know? Any tips, advice?

TIA

It depends if you want to do the BC or transition for a while... I transitioned for 10 months before I did the BC.. check out my fotki... During the 10 months, I kept my hair in mostly braids or weaves so I didn't have to deal with both textures because it really is a struggle... HTH

Well, I already cut it to NL but I don't think I'm going to BC, I'll keep cutting it until the relaxer is gone.

LaFlaca, no tips here.

Just wanted to say you can do no wrong with that pretty mane of yours.

Welcome back, chica!

Thanks a lot LE, but I'm not as sure as you are about my hair.:nervous2:

Glad to see you back, I was wondering where you'd gone.

Transitioning eh? Well good for you. The most important tips I can say are not to manipulate too much. Choose styles where you won't have to comb or mess with it much because your hair will be more fragile. Keep up with protein treatments (this was extremely important to me during my trans) as well as deep conditioning. I never did a bc and my hair stayed very healthy the whole time. I only washed my hair every two weeks because detangling two textures is a lot of manipulation and the hair is very weak at the line of demarcation so I detangled as little as possible. HTH

Welcome to the transitioning side.

My last relaxer was October 27, 2007.

If you have any specific questions, please feel free to pm me hun. :)

That's what I'm doing. My first haircut was April 9, 2008 and my second haircut was July 12, 2008. This is working well for me.
