Curly Nikki had an article on this not too long ago. I feel it would pop more with brighter colours. Never thought to use a gel as a way to get it done though.

Um I have a MAC pigment in red that I would love to use but I am still a bit concerned about the chemicals in it. MAC does not call the pigment (red) eye or lip safe.
