Quick Question......I know that you experience changes in textures as you transistion. I was wondering what type of changes did some of you experience and when? Was it more than one change?

Thanks Ladies

When it first started growing back after a BC to about 1/4 I was a 3a big loose curls now at about 6in. I'm a 3b-c. Oh and it's different depending on the season too. It just does whatever the heck it wants:ohwell::look:

When I had a relaxer my hair didn't show any of it's true texture. Once I started transitioning my real texture showed. I feel it has remained the same throughout the time I have been natural. I don't think that I had "scab hair". Once I found what techniques and products worked that helped. My texture can look different depending on how I treat my hair. If I leave my hair alone after cowashing and detangling it will be coily. If I blow it out or comb it my texture will not be coily, but puffy instead.

when i first transitioned... the hair was very straight and wavy/loose. This kept on until i was about maybe 1yr into my transition and bc'd. The hair at the root was still very straight but the ends were curly and sprially(new word lol ) then as it grew out the roots were more wavy and the middle was more straight... okay my hair is just weird lol hth

My hair went from random frizzy fuzzy naps to coils and curls. It looked like 4b before the first few times I stretched. I had a hard time getting the edges to lay down. I think it was scab hair. Now my hair is mostly 4a.

I only BC'ed about 4 months ago. I got a really short cut; about 1/2 inch of hair on top and tapered, almost faded in the back and sides. My hair was hard and wiry with no curl pattern then. It was just fuzzy.

Now, my hair is baby soft. I have big curls on my head where my hair was tapered when I BC'ed and smaller curls/coils where my hair was cut longer. I can also feel/see a huge difference in the hair that was there when I BC'ed and the hair that's grown in after it. I'm not trimming it off for another 2-4 mos.

I can't wait to see what other changes my hair will make in the future.

hey gymfreak.

i did or at least it seemed to change - it was probably the same all along but the relaxed hair just stretched the curl pattern out ALOT! You can't really tell how your natural hair will be until the ends go away BUT you can kindof/sorta get a very general idea by transitioning.

i thought i'd have the same wavy 2b pattern my dad, grandpa and grandma had....ha.ha.HA-HAH!

i'd read on various websites that relaxed hair weighs the natural hair down and just thought pha-shish, no way jose - but i found this to be very, very true (in my case).

That is what my hair looked like up until now. This is the first time I am seeing any thing different in terms of texture. I am not transisitioning and I didn't even stretch that long.
