Natural bun wearers- How long do you wear yours

before you take it down? I am new to this bun thing and I was wondering how long I should keep it up like this before re-doing. TIA!

If I'm not going out anywhere (say over a lazy weekend, or just a quick run out in the car to drop my son off at school) I'll leave my hair in a bun without redoing it for 2 days.

I usually wash my hair every three or four days when it's cold out so sometimes I'll just leave the bun alone until I wash.

If I feel my hair needs moisture I'll take it down , spritz it with water and then smooth a tiny bit of unrefined hemp seed oil through it before putting it back up. It only take me about a minute or two to comb my hair and twist it back up into a simple bun.

I have been eyeing my hair and it looks dry but I know its not. I think I will take it down today and spray some VO5 Strawberries and Cream cond. and water on it, paticularly the ends, and put it back up.

Yes, you've got to take care of those ends.

Sometimes when I'm a rush I just moisturize my ends before bunning again.

I take mine down or loosen it every evening because it feels too uncomfortable for sleeping. I don't like the idea of pins or anything pulling on my hair for extended periods. I redo it before leaving the house the next day.

This is what I do now, too. Or, I will take down every other day to moisturize.

Before, I would only take down once a week...my wash day. The rest of the week I would still spray my "moisturizing concoction" on my my bun to keep the ends moisturized on a daily basis though.

My main reason I started taking it down every night was me wanting to be more comfortable when sleeping, too.

I used AFashionSlave's tutorial in her album. I was just itching to try it so I did it and took it down but it's a style I'll definitely revisit.
