for moisture. I need to get myself geared up, for natural hair again, so i'm prepared. i haven't got time for error and wasting money on tons of products. So list all your favourite products in your hair care regimes. thanks in advance.

African Royale Daily Doctor, and Long Aid Activator Gel...when I use these 2 products (seperate or together) I can go 1-2 days (sometimes more) b4 reapplying and my hair will stay very soft and moisturized. The Activator gel is the best I've tried, it cost $6 or less and comes in a 32oz. jar.
Good luck Den1 :) HTH.

Co signing with PB. I just dug this up and it's like heaven on my twisted hair.
Thanks Poohbear and Kristina, i have some s-curl hidden in my wardrobe, it does work quite well on my transitioning hair. Aleix thanks for suggesting African Royale Daily Doctor i've seen quite a few other natural who use this, i'm adding this to my purchase, i've never heard of Long Aid Activator Gel. does it contains protein, alcolhol, mineral oil? right now i'm loving world of curls gel and i'm hoping to get my hands on some smooth n shine. thanks ladies, i'm open to any more suggestions.

Hello,

I have the absolute kinkiest of kinky hair...with that being said, some of the products that I use on a continuous basis are: Aussie Moist Conditioner, Renewal 5X Retame Conditioner (I think this stuff may be discontinued because I've only found it at Big Lots) and Pantene Daily Moisture Renewal Conditioner. I use these for conditioner washes, after shampoo conditioners, and as leave ins (with a little bit of grease on top to lock in the moisture). They make my hair super soft and fluffy.

I generally wear my hair in a bun with a pinned back swoop bang. I like my hair to have the kinky blowed dried look (think Rudy Huxtable) without actually blow drying it. After my hair has completely air dried, I work in some leave in and a layer of grease on top of that and I put my hair in about six fat twists and let it set over night. If I want my hair to be even flatter, I put my hair in one ponytail, braid it, and tie a scarf around my head. And this is pretty much my routine.

I love the descrpription you gave about your hair "the kinkiest of kinky hair" sounds very pretty. your routine is very simple, i've seen Aussie moist many times in my local pharmacy, another product to add to my list. i know anout the pantene i used it once as a natural. it is was the smooth and sleek one. i like it quite a lot but my ends wouls frizz. thanks

I'm currently using the S-Curl no drip formula as well. Also, I use the Shea Butter Detangler and Moisturizer by Kid Organics. It's with the childrens' products.

I use black soap to wash my hair, NTM hair mask for conditioner
For moisture, I use water, then seal it in with my shea butter/aloe vera gel mix.

What is this black soap like? is it natural? ooh i also have some shea mixed up with oils, not sure how it'll work on my natural hair, hopefully much better.

Black soap is really good. I bought it originally for my face, but it was too harsh. My hair seems to like it though. My shea is mixed with coconut oil and avocado oil, and then aloe vera gel for hold. I think its best used on damp hair though, otherwise (for me) it feels greasy.

I agree butters are best used on damp/wet hair, at least me for anyway, thanks for describing the black soap.

I bought oyin's greg juice and honey hemp conditioner and I just mix the two with water in a spray bottle. I spray my hair then put castor oil on my hair and it stays moist.

Well my hair is pretty short. I usually wear it in an afro twa.

So all I do is condition wash everyday..and than apply shea butter while its still damp and head out the house.

I really hate hate shampoo. Its like a drying agent. I have curl activator that I might start using cause its getting a bit longer and might add in some cream type hair protectant.

Right now I have comb coils in from the shop. I plan to do some short synthetic braids (by myself) or some home finger coils after these.

I use stay soft fro spray for extra dry hair. I mix with water I love this I spray this on everyday. I also use fantasia IC gel for my twists.

Heard a lot about oyin's, I deperately wanted to purchase it but the price turned me off. i currently add conditioner mixture with water/oils to my transitioning hair, its quite simular to your mix, i do hope it works on my natural hair too. thanks for your help

Which conditioners do you use daily? thanks for all your replies you ladies have the simplest routines, and use quite natural/inexpensive products unlike us relaxed heads, its hard work keeping it hair healthy with chemicals, i'm just tired of it now, i can't wait until my day of freedom, i will be rejoicing like i'm in heaven.

sta-sof-fro made my natural hair feel sticky, i wonder if i should add water next time, if i decide to buy it.

Cosigning on the Daily Doctor. I'd choose this over the s-curl. Base ingredients are the same: water and glycerine. But the daily doctor adds in all sorts of nice herbs and what not. Just make sure you have a spray bottle to transfer it into.

Definitely scurl no drip formula the best, and ntm triple moisturizer line is great for natural hair we need all the moisture, (although I'm in love with aveda damage remedy line now) and I love ors shea butter its very moisturizing. And invest in a denman brush if you haven't got one already the best thing to pop the curls with a big teeth comb preferably the k cutter hth! :)

Favs:

Elucence clarifying and moisture poos and conditioner
Wild Growth Hair oil (as a sealant when baggying)
Aubrey Organics GPB and Honeysuckle Rose Conditioners
Qhemet Amla and Olive Heavy cream (for baggy-lasts a loong time)
Some type of light shea butter. I use Oyins whipped shea butter, but anything that gives you lasting moisture should work. I use this on my damp hair immediatley after wash.
Dominican treatments and rinse (Capilo Sole and cinnamon, La Bomba)-these aren't a necessity per se, but I really like the dominican products.

my moisture routine is pretty basic -- 3 steps: wms (wet, moisturise, seal)

wet: (weekly conditioner wash)
no-poos -- suave humectress, awapuhi, or biobasics, or tresemme vit. e.

moisturise: (daily moisture spray)
african pride braid sheen spray, care free gold, wave nouveau finishing lotion

seal: (weekly leave-in)
aussie moist, trader joe's nourish spa, garnier fructis curl & shine, aubrey organics rose mosqueta, gpb or white camellia, aphogee intensive keratin reconstructor, sally's generic value products (sgvp) concentrated leave-in treatment, sgvp detangler, sgvp smoothing conditioner, nzinga herbal hair lotion

i basically follow a modified no-oil regime. any oils/butters i use are in cream form, blended in with a humectant, botanical product. otherwise they just sit on my hair.
