Natural 4A/B LAdies that use APHOGEE

I don't think many naturals do protein treatments scarcity. I know I don't. I tried Aphogee once when I was relaxed and hated it. Never tried it again.

My hair is not natural. I do know that if you use the hard ApHogee treatment you should follow the instructions on the package exactly. Mixing will weaken the product. If your hair doesn't need the hardcore protein, you may be better trying a weaker protein like the ApHogee 2 Min Reconstructor.

The hard ApHogee will take your hair out, if it is not used correctly.

I did the hard core aphogee treatment on my mom's hair, and she is a natural 4b. I didn't mix it with conditioner; I did it just as if I was doing on my own hair and then followed up with intense deep conditioning with heat. I did it cuz she didn't listen to me and went to a Dominican salon and that lady damaged her hair with heat . Her hair was really dry and this helped a lot. HTH

I am all natural and I used the Aphogee 'hard protein mixture' I used it as directed on the bottle...nothing added just follow the instructions on the bottle, do not try to comb it while the protein mix is in your hair and after your rinse, moisturize!!

I tried the hard treatment, but I didn't care for it, at all. I like the 2 min reconstructor, and you might want to try that one if the hard treatment is too much for your hair.

treatment..the stinky hardcore protein kind...do u mix with condish?
If yes...which one...TIA

I've done the treatment with and without mixing it into cond but I follow it with the moisturiing treatment
There was a thread about adding it to cholesterol cond and mixing in an oil

I use it straight up and it worked really well. Just make sure u follow up with a mositurizing condish. The one that goes with it is so-so, bu ti uusally follow up with ors replenishing, humectress kenra mc.

Try jherri rhedding protein its a bit better in the smell department, it smells more like soya sauce vs aphogee's kinda sour acidic smell.

I use it and follow the instructions exactly. I follow it up with humectress under a towel for 30 - 1 hr, and it works well. It is really important though to follow the instructions, i.e. comb through thoroughly before sitting under dryer.

I used it once or twice in the past. I used it the way the direction said to use it. No mixing. I don't think I'll use it again though. The smell... it was sticky when it dried up... it dripped all on the floor and my hands and my shoulders... it dripped on my face and it burns. I don't really like it much.

I'm natural and I use Affirm 5n1 reconstructor every other week it is not as hard as aphogee but Aphogee is not sold here yet.
But if I find it here, I will do it every 6 weeks and follow it with a deep moisturizing conditionner!

I use it and I love it. I use it every 8 weeks and it has changed my hair dramatically. The only thing I do not like is the dripping and stickiness on my neck but I got over that. If I found another hard protein that worked as well I would replace it but I doubt I will.

A BIG THANK YOU to all the ladies that responded...sorry it took me so long to reply...havent been on as much as i used to...thats what happens when u create a thread and forget about ur own darn thread:grin:
thanx again!

I am a 4a natural and I did this treatment a couple weeks ago and I will never do it again. It made my hair so dry and my hair started to loss more hair when I washed. From now on I am going to do mild protein treatments.

I'm a natural and use the hard core Aphogee treatment straight out of the bottle. I only use it every 8 weeks and follow the instructions word for word! I have to follow it with a thorough wash and DC. I find that it keep any breakage or tangling issues I may have under control and is an extra layer of protection since I use heat occasionally.

It helps with tangling? I have not noticed this but that is because I would do a treatment followed by a DC and then put my hair in a protective style for 6weeks. Then I would redo it. I have not kept my hair out enough to notice this. But I should because I have decided to keep it out a little more.

:yep:I was experiencing crazy tangling while trying to comb my hair out after DCing (...my hair usually behaves pretty well after that...) and breakage because of the tangles. Something told me I needed to up my protein game and I did a treatment on my dry hair, washed and DC'd like usual. Presto...no more extracurricular tangling...lol!
